OOTB's Political Thread . ..

Not sure what crimes trump may have committed and is being indicted for. Paying a whore hush money isn’t a crime I don’t think. Maybe it’s a case of “the act wasn’t that bad but the lying about it is”? I guess we’ll see. I’m sure whatever the evidence is reactions will fall along predictable lines. But one fuking thing for damn sure……I can’t wait for the mug shot.

It's probably a tiny crime, but charges are filed for tiny crimes all the time, jails are full of them.

Nobody is above the law, but Trump will make bail, get off and continue with this stuff:

No way in hades should the Dem party do something to keep him off the ticket in 2024.

I posted about this days ago. Unless something has changed, he's being charged with a misdemeanor accounting shenanigan...something of the sort that no one is ever charged with, falsifying an entry so as to appear to be something other than what it is. That action not being for illegal profit or anything at all sinister, but it concerns the payoff to Stormy Daniels so there you go...an opportunity to 'get' Trump and expose his privileged info.

This country has teetered on the likelihood for a while, but it has now officially become disgusting for its political pettiness..

This absurd indictment is almost ensuring Trump Grover Clevelands his way back in the White House. So by all means, please tell the Dems to continue on.

And all you idiot liberals, I don’t want to hear you crying when Trump is re-elected. Wait, yeah I do. I actually love it. It’s actually the number 1 reason I’ll vote for him.

So if he falsified business records about paying off his whores….why? Was it to obtain financing or some sort of tax break or something? Surely it wasn’t just to avoid embarrassment. Got to be more to it. Idgaf if he or anyone pays off a consenting adult for anything. Yea it’s hilarious to poke fun at him for it and he deserves it but to put him in jail? I don’t get it.

It's absurd. Legal experts have said it will be impossible for the prosecution to prove that he paid off Daniels for campaign benefit rather than to save his marriage. There is literally no way the prosecution can win this and they know it. That's the definition of a witch hunt when you consider the real criminals that NY is letting get away with murder. Literally.

At this point I tend to agree. You know me….I won’t lose any sleep over trump facing legit legal woes. But I wouldn’t wish this on anyone if it is truly purely politically motivated. We’re talking prison here. They better have a fuking strong as hell case is all I’ll say. Otherwise they should be the ones locked up.

the whole idea is to expose him in the process of losing an unwinnable case, is my take. It gives me every negative feeling there is to think that this is what our country has become. The people of this country are being held hostage in a detestable dem power war. It amazes me that a man in his position can exhibit the kind of resiliency America is supposed to stand for, while the dems bitchbite him constantly.

Yet he still stands. I'm not sure how much more of a leader we need than someone who demonstrates to us that not being a pussy is America. If he is not the republican candidate, I'll hope that whoever is has his kind of backbone.

my friend, I wish you could see that this is just more of what has been going on for seven years. And you are right, a hell of a lot of people other than Trump should be put away permanently.

BTW, even though you have no use for Trump, I'm very happy to not have to lump you in with the likes of an @Heels Noir. You are much better than that.

I like the idea of making powerful people in America know they can't break laws. He'll get off, and he's such a megalomaniac it won't slow him down, but maybe other people in power will think twice before criming.

I'm afraid this would only encourage the real criminals who have neglected our country for the sake of holding onto power.

Regarding your latest empty accusation. Describe the crimes he has committed. Oh that's right, you can't, you can only insinuate and use innuendo. Or as in this case, applaud the politically-motivated making of a mountain out of a molehill aimed at a political opponent, and not at the breaking of a rule.

This isn't about giving powerful people a comeuppance and you know it. It's just a flock of political buzzards...

Disney played that whole situation perfectly. Tip of the cap to them.
I didn't follow that story at all, what did Ron want? More tax money from Disney? Or to force them to make different public statements regarding things like masks and parenting rights?

No idea. I heard a grand jury (ordinary americans, unpaid by Soros) found 36 charges to bring... I assume it is white-collar crime or campaign-finance related. And i heard it is probably less egregious than the Fulton co stuff or him stealing and trying to hide stolen natty security docs.

As some people like to say: if you don't like the laws, change them.

I'd be careful what you wish for. Trump is going to win the Presidency in 2024 and will spend the following 4 years getting revenge. I'm here for it.
These indictments are not going to help win back indys and never-trumper conservatives. Those people will vote again for anyone not named Trump.

there's the insinuation and innuendo I was referring to. Thanks for helping.

But I was asking about ALL his supposed crimes, not just the jaywalking charge he's currently facing.

The last sentence is the best. They should be the ones locked up.

Well, the vote may not matter if we can't put in place reasonable election integrity measures, which if they are enacted, would be a total bloodbath for democrats.

Dems have never really been able to win and have majorities absent massive fraud.

The solid South was never legit. That was due to massive election fraud where they made sure black voters couldn't vote en masse. That went on for decades.

Pretty funny that in this day and age of technology the only public notification they were required to do was an obscure posting in the Orlando sentinel. Who evens read the paper anymore? Lol. But they followed the law as it’s written. Kudos.
Don't F with big business LOL

They made statements against the don't say gay bill (don't remember what it was actually called). He decided that the first amendment doesn't apply to mean corporations that disagree with him, so he tried to take control of the '"special tax district" (basically Disney's own town) through the board that governs them in an attempt to silence people who disagree with him.

It's funny that the whole world was following this and not one politician or reporter caught it. I think everyone was surprised by Disney saying they wouldn't fight it, so they stopped paying attention.

That's not the only one. You can find that sentiment everywhere.
You found one! Good job. I love that he's voting Trump in the primary.

As for general, well, you better hope he's in one of the few purple districts in one of the few purple states that actually make a difference anymore due to gerrymandering.

Most people want wealthy elitists to pay the same fine for jaywalking that that rest of us do.

This information is widely available on the Internet:

What is Trump accused of?

While the precise charges are secret for now, prosecutors have concluded they can prove a criminal case against Trump because of the apparent subterfuge surrounding a $130,000 payment to adult-film actress Stormy Daniels to keep her from publicizing her claim about a sexual encounter with Trump. Trump’s lawyer Michael Cohen funded that payment through a home equity line of credit.

Trump insisted in April 2018 he did not know about the hush money, but Cohen provided Congress a series of check images, signed by Trump, reflecting payments to Cohen that he said were reimbursements for the money he laid out, including at least two that came while Trump was in the White House. Cohen said that Trump and his company concealed the purpose of the payments by falsely labeling them as legal expenses.

Under New York law, disguising such payments in corporate records is a crime, but typically only a misdemeanor. It becomes a felony if the false business records were intended to obscure a second crime. In this case, that second crime appears to be the use of the funds to advance Trump’s presidential campaign allegedly in violation of campaign finance laws.
