Right now - none. If the economy continues to spiral, then I'd say a younger, African-American charismatic moderate...basically Obama.
Well, I don't think any of them have a shot against Trump, but Biden doesn't have a chance in any election because he's way too old and confused.
I'm not sure the economy is spiraling down, but we shall know for sure in a few months.

I mean they're both kind of old and confused. Biden comes across as an Alzheimer's patient while Trump is the old coot who doesn't understand how a remote works and tells people to get off his lawn.

Plenty of people outside of the “far left” would vote for Bernie in the general. If you think moderate democrats would vote for trump over Bernie then you are completely out of touch.

Votes don't lie. He can't win his own party.
Moderates voting for Bernie in the primary is completely different than them voting in the general when they don’t have a moderate Democrat as an option. If it were just Bernie and trump then that’s a completely different story.
A big part of the reason is because his demographic skews towards younger voters who don’t show up and vote. It also doesn’t help when CNN is steering as many people towards Biden as possible, and hacks like Chris Matthews compare him winning primaries to the fall of France in WW2.

He was actually very good last night because it was the perfect setting for him. Prepared speech that needed to be toned down because of Corona. He basically moved on to the general election.
I'm wondering how he is going to do in the debate when it's just him and Bernie. He isn't going to be able to just sit back and hope he doesn't say something dumb.

Ugh, can you honestly not see that Biden is having issues? Even @gteeitup, who is definitely not a fan of Trump, has said that it looks like there might be some possible health issues with Biden. I tend to roll my eyes when some of the more conservative posters on here compare people to @WilliamL, but you are starting to resemble the path that he took.
I really have to admit I don’t get why evangelicals like him so much. I get why old school conservatives or pissed off rednecks do. But for a group of people who love to preach morality they sure love a guy who breaks every conventional religious rule in the book.

If I'm Biden, I'd try to direct as much focus as possible on Trump and how to beat him. If Bernie attacks directly, he should just show why he feels differently and how that viewpoint will help get voters in the general. I think there's a way to take the high road and just talk about uniting the party under the democratic nominee, whomever that happens to be (knowing it's going to be himself).
But, this all implies that Biden is good at this and he's not.
If you asked a majority of evangelicals how they felt about Trump in like 2010 they'd reply with something ranging from indifference to flat out hatred.
It's part of what @Terror Beard has been saying and is correct about, the guy has certainly found a way to get people on his side through his words.
I'm betting the debate will be canceled by the DNC. They want him speaking off the cuff as little as possible. Clyburn is already suggesting shut the rest of the primaries down.
Evangelicals want two things from a president. Belief in god and a promise to put conservatives on the supreme court so Roe can be overturned. Trump meets both of those requirements, so they are willing to overlook the rest. It's that simple.
There's your answer in your comment. They love to preach it. DOING it is not on their list of activities. They love to talk about it, accuse other people and bring down the wrath of their God, or what they believe God to be. They love a vengeful God... because THEY are vengeful. That's also why they like Trump. Their God is an asshole, and so is Trump. He revels in being an asshole.

Funny how that scope is limited to those two things. Any schmuck can profess a claim in God. I doubt Trump gives two f**ks about whether or not he’s going to meet his maker.
As for the second thing, that’s obviously big for evangelicals but it seems to be a disproportionate focus. The world would be a lot better place if they spent less time handwringing about abortion and more time helping those in need.
And, those same people who oppose abortion would line-up and pay to throw the switch on a condemned criminal. Their view of The Sanctity of Life is a very subjective one on its best day. They sorta forget about the whole "What you do to the least of my brethren, you do to me" admonition.
not to mention cheering on wars over oil that kill tens of thousands of American soldiers as well as innocent civilian Iraqis, Syrians, and Afghanis. But they’re evil brown people with a different god so it’s all good.
Biden looked good with prepared remarks. Off the cuff will still be his downfall, I imagine.
Well, to them, those people worship the "wrong God." Heathens deserve to die a horrible death, maybe? I dunno. I've heard many justifications from many different Christians. It runs parallel to their nationalism, I guess. It just makes sense to them.
I suppose there is an abundance of jingoism in the evangelical demographic. That Old Testament fire-in-the-belly can burn hot when someone of authority tells them that there's "an enemy" somewhere. But, it's not exclusive to just them. I've known some very benevolent Christians as well. I think their souls were more evolved, maybe... I'm not sure. It's one thing to see a person assaulting another and want to help the victim. But, going around the world to kill people you don't know? No, thank you.
