OOTB's Political Thread . ..

No president has ever taken office for more personally self-serving reasons than Biden has
Without naming them, let's consider two Presidents, either former or current.

One spent 36 years as a US Senator, two terms as Vice President, and ran for the office of president three times before winning. The other one never served in public office but rather spent his entire adult life seeking attention and adulation, including staring in his own network reality TV show before being elected.

Which sounds more like a self-serving candidate?

Or another way of putting it is:

One guy never had a job other than sucking of the tax-payer tit and produced next to nothing throughout his 50 years in govt and the other guy actually created multiple businesses and earned his own money.

You say tomayto, I say tomahto.

Yeah, Trump is a real businessman….lol

Yeah, Trump is a real businessman….lol

Let's have a look:

- His reality TV show that was on air for over a decade made him roughly $250mm.
- Trump Tower's condos sell for between $2.5mm and $10mm.
- He bought 40 Wall St for between $1mm and $10mm (conflicting reports). As of 2016, it was worth $145mm.
- He has owned or currently owns casinos, world class golf courses and resorts.
- Trump is worth $4.5 billion

Now, I know those things pale in comparison to the empire you've built in the convenience store world there in Yadkin Co., but by pretty much anyone's definition, Trump has been a highly successful businessman.

Thanks for helping me make my point about which man was in it for only himself.

Yeah, I doubt any of Trump's hundreds/thousands of employees and business partners made any money at all. Trump took 100% of it! Big Orange strikes again.
You must also consider what a lifelong swindler Trump has been, a veritable snake oil salesman. For every person he has helped make money, there’s at least one person he has ripped off.

Objection; relevance.

That has zero to do with him being a self-made billionaire and successful businessman even if it were true.

I eagerly wait your next TDS infected comment. Please don't disappoint.

Yeah, at least. 🙈
Deny, deny, deny. That's what members of the Sore Losers Society do best.

Here's the short list of Trump's failures:

Trump Airlines: In 1989, Trump took out a $245 million loan to take over Eastern Air Shuttle. Two short years later the airline wasn't making enough money to cover the $1 million monthly interest payment. The result? Trump declared bankruptcy.

Trump casinos: Trump has filled for bankruptcy three times for his failed casinos alone. Not to mention his Indiana riverboat venture that was in debt $1.8 billion -- that's BILLION with a "B" -- and Trump Entertainment Resorts, Inc. that went under still owing creditors $53.1 million.

Trump Mortgage: Another failed enterprise for Trump, and this time he went under without paying a $298,274 judgment owed to a former employee, not to mention the $3,555 he owed in unpaid taxes.

Trump University - Instead of hand-picked instructors the students were promised, seminars were filled with motivational speakers instead, oftentimes without degrees of their own and sometimes with criminal records. That sounds about right. As a result, Trump is presently the subject of two class-action lawsuits in California and one in New York.

Trump's Real-estate Holdings - These holdings were in such a state of mishandling, confusion, and disrepute that it has taken forensic accountants 20 or more years to untangle all of the interlinked scams, frauds, over billing and underreported earnings that have enabled him to stay ahead of collectors.

Again, that is just the short list of some of Trump's financial victims. If you would like to see the long list and have a couple of hours, click here: https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1849635/000119312522150801/d226205ds4.htm#rom226205_7

Self made?! What rock have you been living under? I knew you were dumb and uneducated but I never dreamed you were stupid enough to believe in the Trump myth.

First of all, there is no evidence that Donald Trump is a billionaire. Although he claims he is every chance he gets, there are no tax filings or other documents to corroborate it. It's simply Trump blowing his own horn and hitting clinkers on every note.

Second, he inherited today's equivalent of $413 million from his father, in what had all the markings of an illegal case of tax fraud. Like father, like son. That doesn't include what he also inherited from his grandparents.

Face it, Donald Trump is a puerile idiot who couldn't build an empire on his own if his life depended on it. It's brighter minds than his that are underwriting the intellectual savvy necessary to keep him afloat.

Excuse me. He’s a self-made several hundred-millionaire. My bad.

I swear if this wasn't video I would have thought it was some comedian doing a good Trump impression. Dafaq is he talking about?

ETA:

See, I knew this had comedian written all over it.

Amazing what some of these people believe, really makes you wonder….
Everyone who isn't one of Trump's crotch remoras is by now aware of his inheritance and where it came from. In by now I mean for at least the past decade or more.

I can hardly believe people this stupid remember how to breathe.

Says the least intelligent poster on the board. TDS must really be a bitch.

So I’m wrong and the President is Bozo? You’re not even intelligent enough to stay on the right side of your own point.
You’re wrong about who most resembles your clown of choice. Don’t worry, Archie, I have to explain things like this to my three-year-old nephew, also.

I said the President wasn’t Bozo, you replied “wrong”. Try to keep up you ignoramus. You shouldn’t be attempting to explain anything to your nephew, chances are he already knows more than you. You’ll have him wearing dresses before long, just like his uncle. NTTAWWT.

He is the leader of the GOP and will probably run again if he is not in jail. You want people to quit talking about him? Tell him to keep his mouth shut and stay out of politics.
quit talking about him? We don't want you to quit talking about him, for starters it keeps him in the forefront and secondly, making fun of TDS victims is a good time.

Why do you want him to keep his mouth shut and stay out of politics? Oh, I almost forgot...TDS.

^^^^^^^ LMAO at this fool

i dont want Trump to run for POTUS again but i do want him to stay in the news. it's so entertaining to watch the TDS symptoms continue to play out daily.

The Trump myth is alive and well at OOTB. Go figure.

It's the emperor's new clothes all over again and you are one of its fools.
Someone get over to Rip Van Winkle's and wake him up. He's sleep typing. After he is up and about, point out to him that it's actually 2022 and we have someone else for him to talk about.

Exactly. Trump has been a million times more successful than you. Have you ever been POTUS? Didn’t think so.
You could put the money his ole man gave him in a simple index fund and not touched it and he would be worth quite a bit more than he is now. Plus I have not been lying about my net worth for years Like he has. It wouldn’t surprise me if he had to pay off all his debts to learn that he’s underwater.

First, even if it was copy and paste, thanks for posting something other than saying something equivalent to "your breath smells".

Next, you keep saying that Trump filed bankruptcy. That would be false as it's individual companies set up to do those specific ventures that have gone bankrupt. That's how it is in any business venture. Some succeed, some fail. Reward takes risk and it often fails. Most fail to ever take the risk and live check to check. The trick is to get more that payoff in the long run. That being said, Trump has been brutally self serving and left a lot in his wake of failures. Not a very altruistic quality, but it makes one financially successful and it's not necessarily a bad quality for a leader of an organization, even a country.

Lastly, you say he inherited the equivalent of $413 million. Forbes says his net worth currently is #3 billion (real time). It was 4.5 in 2016. So, there goes the argument that he ran for president simply to enrich himself.

What the hell are you babbling about? Are you implying individuals cannot file for bankruptcy? Or are you giving credit to Trump the businessman without laying blame on Trump the failure? You can't have it both ways.

So, there goes the argument that he ran for president simply to enrich himself.
I never made the argument that Trump ran for office to enrich himself financially. More like to stoke his ginormous ego.

By the way, your fish breath smells like low tide.
