Prayers for All Affected @ Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School

That’s the second reference you’ve made regarding that. I’m having trouble picking up what you’re laying down. Could you clarify what that poast means.

TIA
He's practicing reporting like the liberal media. Splicing and leaving out parts that don't fit the narrative. He's referring to when students drove buses. But his point makes no sense, drunk post I suspect.

No I won't . . re-read the thread.

So I went back and read the entire thread. The comment about driving a bus was originally made by @heelbent when stating that kids today are not mature enough to guard the doors with weapons or drive buses like they used.

Then, @nctransplant made the statement that this thread was originally meant for thoughts and prayers on the victims of the shooting and then cited how some had misused it for taking shots at Trump out of left field and he said “who would have ever thought?”

You then answered his question of “who would have thought” by saying “junior and senior bus drivers”.

I’m still lost. Is it a joke I’m not getting? Because I like humor. Help me get it.

Hasn't pretty much every liberal here said that they don't think Donald Trump is the cause of school shootings?

If you keep taking a flame thrower to a straw man it burns up pretty quick.

Here you go
WOW . . a wannabe good old boy Trumpkin that fell in with the White Supremacists and it corrupted, brainwashed and motivated his feeble little mind.

Wore a MAGA hat, a member of a white nationalist group, and a violent thug.

Who woulda thunk it . .

Prolly a good thing this dude wasn't an illegal immigrant huh . .? If he was, then 45 would be out front and center declaring how this country would need his wall and they're rapists and killers.

Hey . . nobody as of yet has answered my ? on Rick Gates . . wassup w/ him ?

So who is he?

In a DUI we blame the driver. In a bombing we blame the bomber. In a shooting we blame the gun......and trump. Makes perfect sense

It does make perfect sense, actually. Cars are made to transport people. There's no such thing as a bomb shop or a bomb expo. The sole purpose of a gun is to kill and they are easy to purchase. I'm not a gun control nut but this is a bad analogy.

I know this POV wore out but if laws stopped crime why do we have murders, rape, drugs, robbery, DWI, speeding, bank fraud, child molesters or pipe bombs?

We have a humanity problem!
I completely agree we have a humanity problem, as GSD so eloquently noted. However, it's worth pointing out that laws are meant to deter crime, not stop crime entirely since that's simply unrealistic.

Since drunk driving kills far more people each year than these shootings, perhaps we should band SUV’s since most people don’t really “need” anything hat big anyway. Yep, a Prius would be much safer, so let’s just let everyone buy those instead of an SUV since we know SUV’s are deadlier anyway.
Most of the models that have the highest driver fatality rates are small cars with structures that are less able to absorb the brunt of crashes. Five of the 10 cars with the most driver fatalities are hatchbacks, while three are small sedans. Meanwhile, all of the cars with the lowest driver death rates were either large luxury cars or SUVs. (Source)

Since everyone like to keep using cars as an analogy, there's ample evidence that automotive regulations introduced since the 1970s have greatly reduced the number of deaths:

- driver's education
- mandatory insurance
- reduced speed limits
- safety standards (NHTSA)
- seatbelts
- airbags

Again, I'm not a gun control nut but the "do nothing" policy isn't working out so well. And of course any effective policy will need to tackle multiple aspects of the problem, including better funding for mental health and law enforcement.

I already stated I'm willing to give up a bit of personal freedom to save lives. But someone answer me this: let's say we put tighter restrictions in place and it doesn't work - it doesn't decrease the number of shootings or the number of fatalities when shootings occur. Do we go back to less restrictions? Do gun enthusiasts get their right to have ARs back? And to those crying for tighter restrictions, do you realize that if the people give in on this, that we're opening the door and setting precedent for the government to enact tighter restrictions in other parts of your life? Would you support the government listening to your phone calls? I mean, it could save lives? Would you support the government taking some foods off the market? After all, it could save lives. How much government restriction is ok with you?

yes it would decrease

and save the slippery slope bs...they’re already going backwards on gun control since the last two presidents.
