Recruitng class of 2016

Divine Deablo signed with VT. I still don't understand this one but I figure we lost interest in him when Groves committed.
From his vantage, Fuente is a big improvement over Beamer and his lousy OCs.

From our vantage, we may now be stocked at WR for this class, and he missed his chance.

Why in the world would he want to play for the whack pack?
Well, as recent events should show conclusively to even the most naive, the Wuf fan base is filled with monomaniacal freaks. If Lawrence has family or coaches who are typical Wufs, he has felt the religious fervor to go to Rawlee to serve in jihad against the Carolina blue.

I know nothing about his academic preparations. If he might have difficulty getting admitted, he almost certainly would prefer to sign elsewhere.

Along those lines, here is something to ponder: the clean up of AFAM means that now the dumbest and/or least willing to work at academics jocks who prefer to play in a major conference and in the state of NC will all head to Rawlee to wear Wuffie red.

Blowback is a bitch. But even dumber Wuf players seems like the normal order of things.

Hopefully State learns how to convert some of their stud DL's in to QB's and WR's, otherwise they're in trouble. All Doreeeeen can recruit is RB and DL

Okay I have no inside info but have been looking around this AM....

Dex is set to announce at 3:30 today at WF High School....

Now the guy on 24/7 UNC site is saying state....His Head Coach is saying 5 teams are still in the mix....Clemson,state,Bama,Ohio State,UNC, and UF....

His last visit was to state this past weekend....With that said who knows but I think Ohio State might be the place....

Lawrence isn't coming to UNC. Go ahead and make peace with it.

Look at it this way, if he does pick State, that may just buy Doreen an extra season with the Fack, which is a good thing for us! The man has won as many ACC games in Carter-Finley as Fedora has. Let that sink in.

it will be Clemson or moo. word is he is staying close to home. you named 6 teams.

Lawrence's recruitment has just sorta been odd to me. Like I've barely heard anything about him in terms of article extolling how good he is and stuff like that. I'm not trying to be 'sour grapes' by any means because I'd LOVE to have him in Carolina blue, since that's our biggest positional need.

It's just odd I haven't heard much from, or about, him really.

Yeah you are right , but most everybody has him top 10 overall nationally. The UNC guy on 247 seems to be the only dissenter cause 16 of 17 picks in November on the Crystalball are for Clemson.

Yea my bad on the 6....Also I made peace about Dex 2 months ago....What happened to UF...It seemed like they were the leader for months and now they are just like us on the outside looking in....My thing is since he is not coming to UNC I would rather see him end up outside the ACC....

unfortunately I don't think he is going far from home so it's Clemson or moo. I also read he has gone to almost every moo home game. I think it will end up like the kid from Lincolnton last year . he had moo connections and it seems as if Lawrence does too.

no significant changes on the crystal ball , so I.m guessing nothing has leaked out on Lawrence. I have to wonder did we back off for any reason cause I haven't heard his name mentioned in connection with us in weeks?

Just seems to me that he never really gave us a fighting chance. IMO.

Lawrence has seven hats on table: Moo , Clem , OSU (Ohio I assume) USC (SoCar I assume) , UNC , Bama and UF. Hasn't the silly azz cap routine been beaten to death?

He may be well behind times in all kinds of things.

I think our coaches are working on another DB and anther LB to finish out his class. I guess we are in the dead period now.

As I said on premium, I'd rather he go to Moo................

Folks, Clemson has ARRIVED.
I can live with Clemson's arrival but not moo's. Plus there will be more entertainment on Crack Ride just not as much if he had committed to us.

Moo will never arrive, friend. Lawrence's talent would be wasted there, just like Street's will be, just like Frazier's will be, etc. etc. That's just how it is with them. Their ceiling is 9 wins.

I'm from the western part of nc, at the foothills of the mountains and very surprised a kid at East Rutherford hasn't got any offers from any d1 school. Jarvis Hutchins, led state with 11 interceptions, and ranked 4th nationally. Done this on a very bad 5-7 team that was in same conference as Crest and Shelby--who just won state championships convincingly.

Copeland signs with UNC....Should be able to come in and compete right away...at a position of need as well....

Very excited about this pickup, both because of Copeland's game and because this is an avenue we need to start exploring when at all possible. This is what the big boys do when they need to fill their ranks when several good players graduate out and the rest of that position group is young -- they go the JuCo route.

It worked out pretty dang well for us and Sly Williams!

Agreed. Bill Snyder made his career out of finding hard working guys at TX and KS Jucos to fill immediate needs. Copeland is a big LB - tall enough to play pass D against TEs and heavy enough to pound into RBs and clog the middle behind the DTs.

What are we at now 24 commits....Another LB or DB maybe....Also how many EE are in this class...
I'm not exactly sure what number we're at. We have 23 commits in this class, but we also have JuCo LB J.B. Copeland as well as Vandy transfer Jordan Cunningham. I'm not sure which of those two count for the 2016 class. Since we are off scholarship restriction now, it doesn't really matter. But essentially, we're at 25 right now in terms of number of guys we're adding.

I got the ACC Sports Journal Preview mag for the start of the season...In it we had 78 guys on Ships...Now I know we had a few that have left the team and as always I am sure they may be a few more before it's all said and done....It just feels good to take a full class again....
