Seventh Woods Coach Speaks...

Folks here in Columbia are scared but feel they have the slight edge right now, based on whispers coming from the school more from students than anyone else. Kid is getting big time pressure to stay and help rebuild that SC program along with Dosier. Really glad to see thew kid seems to have accepted playing the 2 in college, IMO he will have to do that at either school.
Let's hope he takes the Brice path ;)

So is Woods to SC a done deal?

His attending a scrimmage means nothing to me.

I didn't say that. But him attending a scrimmage for a school he's not going to attend and telling them "Sorry, I'm not coming here" a few days before his commitment seems pretty unlikely. I'm not going to look for signs where there is none.

Sorry, but I don't have 100% faith in an 18 year old's decision making skills being in our favor.

If he does commit to UNC, then I will be just as happy as the rest of you, however.

I agree. My gut feeling is that he is going to S.C. I really , really hope my gut is wrong

He may end up committing to SoCar. But I'm just saying that I don't find his attendance at the SoCar scrimmage to be an indicator of any sort.

I was agreeing to being happy if he commits to us. I've just have that unpleasant gut feeling he is going to S.C.

I do.

I just think it would be SUPER cold to show up at their scrimmage when he knows he isn't going to the school.

A scrimmage is a scrimmage and what else is there to do in Columbia??? Why not go to the scrimmage when you are a basketball junkie? So your saying that if he is choosing UNC(hypothetical) that he should run and hide in his room until he leaves town and shouldn't go do anything?? USuCk is the only thing in town so why not attend??

THE Fake Carolina thought the same exact thing when he came to LNWR. Dude is being recruited by both school, he hasn't tipped his hand one or the other. Everyone needs to stop assuming this or that we will find out tomorrow.

Being a "basketball junkie" really has nothing to do with this situation. If you have no plans to commit to SoCar, it seems a little disrespectful to visit a school 3 days before your commitment date if you have no plans to commit there whatsoever. And judging by how he feels about his community, I don't think he's the kind of person to do that. JMO.

I'm looking in from the outside just like everyone else, so I'm not saying this is absolute. But it's also not something you can just brush off this close to his commitment. If the school was Duke, I'm sure the feeling wouldn't be the same.

Geez . . . you guys are blowing his exhibition game visit way out of proportion. I see no disrespect from Seventh in attending that game and then 3 days later committing to another school, and if you were to ask Roy, I don't think he feels any less confident about bagging Seventh.

On the Scout site, Evan Daniels said that after the scrimmage, Woods talked a great deal with the Scar coaches. While I don't necessarily think going to the game is a make or break thing, him hanging out with the coaches after the game could be.

However, no one knows for sure, at this point.

Scout has two experts picking the cocks as his choice.... But of course they are "experts"

I DO like the fact we will find out in the MORNING..... No sense in waiting all day IMO

No announcement that TOS will be there.
That has never been good for us. This one is going to hurt if we lose a UNC fan to another school.

Well Clint just said THI will be there.

At this point I am not hopeful, so I have prepared myself to read "Woods To SC" thread title tomorrow morning. It is what it is if he goes to SC. We just try and move on to the next recruits and try and field the best teams we can. I'd rather be surprised tomorrow morning than disappointed. I will agree with another posted above who said it will suck to recruit a kid for so long and lose out to a basketball program that doesn't have nearly as impressive of a history or tradition.

To be blunt, I think you all know right now.

Well sir.....

So...When was the last time that South Carolina had a great player that actually made it big in the Nba...? Yeah, that is what I thought. Regardless, if Seventh wants to risk his future on a school with absolutely no big track record of producing Nba STARS, then let him make that mistake (jmho). UNC could really get the very best out of him the way that I see this. SC, not so fast. Not so much. Not so (imo)...

Top Twenty Still On The Board. Evan seems to think Seventh will pick SC. Look around the link below and you will find his pick. UNC will still roll with or w/o Seventh...

The person I feel bad for in all of this is ROY .... he spent an enormous amount of time on this youngster... and it will probably be for naught.

That's the breaks and we move on

His gf is a'ja wilson. Top recruit last year who plays for scar.

Edited: i've been told she is his god sister. Sorry if i misled. I was going by what i read on the scar board.

With the latest heat we've been putting on alkins..maybe the staff knows something!!..once again I repeat"pay attention to what they do and not what they say "

At age 17 following girlfriend to school out of "love" will hurt him basketball wise and socially as well. These kids rarely stay together to make "love story". If you are a player, and you care about your future...tough choices.

I just have to ask this question............... if I am a player, and especially a parent, do I want to be( or have my son) anywhere near that maniac Frank Martin???? That guy just scares the Bejesus out of me.
