I've been arguing all day with these idiots on the main board. They posted a thread about UNC fans creating a petition to overturn the outcome of the game (which is dumb of course). So I pointed out Duke fans (more of them actually) did the same thing when Duke lost to Miami in football. Actually, I just made a little joke about it and they all started to JCD. One should never call out a fanbase for something their own has done to an even greater degree.

What is JCD?

JCD is Jump Circle Defending. I can't find the article about it. It goes something like this. After a game where someone won there were a group of Duke fans who ran out to center court and formed a circle around the D in the middle because they didn't want the opposing players walking over it. So they were defending the jump circle from the big, bad players stepping on the D. I'll try and look for it later.

It was after md beat them. Their players danced on the D. Heh heh heh. They hate md more than us i think.

This is hilarious:

The name found in the URL for this blog comes from a reference made to a silly episode in which, having just lost a game (not to rival UNC but to another competitor who shan't be named, lest their fans think they have joined the rivalry), some Duke fans encircled the center court emblem of Coach K court in Cameron Indoor Stadium, ostensibly to "protect" it from the celebratory desecration of the victorious opposing players. The notion that Duke fans would feel they need to protect the "jump circle" was met with hilarity, and so the behavior of coming to Duke's defense on a Carolina message board became known as defending the jump circle, or jump circle defense (JCD).

so, now on raidar, it's being floated out like its some f'n source that the staff weren't happy with the ref assignment and the players were warned about an official having an anti carolina bias...perhaps even getting baited into a technical.

to suggest this is ludicrous....to make this public on a message board is idiotic and asking for trouble...but to actually believe it, and presenting as a "source", you need to visit the crazy hospital.

Radar has essentially become Pack Pride. I'm not even using hyperbole.

If that was true, I do wish that Roy would've lost his shit at the appropriate time and gotten a T... maybe during that stretch when Meeks was called for a foul when diving for a loose ball and the Nova dude fell on him. It worked for the Rat last year; didn't he flat out say at half-time that "we need to find a way to get to the foul line more" or something along those lines and sure enough, look how the 2nd half goes their way against Wisky.

I wasn't thrilled with the way the game was called, as most Heels fans weren't. And those missed travel calls in the first half were frustrating. But to suggest a conspiracy out to get UNC is ridiculous. The Heels missed about 27 straight lay-ups and had about half a dozen unforced turnovers. And if Roy puts Hicks on the inbounder, and we just play 4.7 seconds of damn defense, we all know the Heels would've prevailed in OT. But... it didn't happen, so let it go people.

Here's the thing about sports conspiracies- if you start thinking that games are fixed, then it takes the enjoyment out of following them at all. What's the point in watching a game that has been predetermined? Might as well just go to a movie that has good reviews.

Just to further dispel the Raidar conspiracy that ESPN (sorry, dSPN) hates UNC, give this article a read. Not every media outlet (looking at you Yahoo and CBSSports) is ignorant of the truth that this was an academic scandal and not an athletic scandal. Furthermore, the author of this article is much more well-versed than his colleague Ms. O'Neil. He presents the situation fairly, including discussing Roy's health and retirement rumors.

It was refreshing to read.

The issue I had with that article is that he said fake classes, which of course is not correct. Other than that I thought it was ok.

Something I was discussing over on Radar, but wanted to get everyone's opinion here as well. Am I incorrect in assuming that the players/recruits don't finish up a game, take a shower, then automatically log onto Radar to see what the posters are saying about them? And in the off chance that they do - that they care if some random anonymous poster says something not 100% positive about them?

Some responses were that Kendall Marshall's dad posted on 4corners (don't mind the fact that I was inquiring about Radar and got a response about 4corners), and that Ty Lawson was apparently upset with what people were saying about him during his injury (whether what he was upset about was specifically from Radar wasn't clear - maybe he was upset about the media or social media in general).

Honestly I'd be impressed with myself if I found out that players/coaches were reading my comments on there and actually gave 2 craps about what I posted - but I find that very hard to believe.

It's possible that some of them might read message boards, although I think the younger set is geared more towards Twitter and other social media apps. But I can't imagine any of them putting any real stock in it. They might point and laugh a little about some of the more ridiculous opinions, and our level of obsession.

Brice: Hey Big Joel, you hear that @Hark_The_Sound_2010 guy say you shouldn't be getting PT? Lulz.

Where's that from?
That was over at di. He tried to link a gofundme page and couldn't do it. Forget for a minute he didn't even know the type of media he was trying to show everyone, he couldn't even operate the simple controls handed to you by message boards that make this an almost impossible task to mess up. I know, I know. But I was bored and he is very simple to get riled up. So I had a field day over there trolling the place for a little bit. They must have considered my lame trolling somewhat tasteful though, they locked the thread but didn't ban me.

Kendall's dad posted on here some. He posted over on IC way more though. It wasn't a good idea for him and something he shouldn't have done. He was way too defensive, which is understandable, but is also the reason he shouldn't have posted.

I think that's probably the case. Fans talking about them to their face or screaming at them during the game would have more of an influence I think.
