OOTB's Political Thread . ..

No matter how bad the other party is doing, you still have to run people that can win a general election. Youngkin gave the republicans a winning script and they ignored it.
Maybe. He seemed to more stumble onto a movement but I agree Republicans are not generally that good at taking advantage of opportunities. The VA race should have told Republicans to message more on children, grooming, education and mis-education and so forth, including Critical Race Theory and BLM propaganda.

At the same time, the media is rigged and the elections mostly are. One may ask then why some win instead of a total conservative wipe-out, and the answers are obvious.

Number one is the Deep State and globalists, who have decided the dem commies are their favorite vehicle, need to maintain plausible deniability.

Number two is there are some areas like Florida who have wrested considerable control from them, at least in many areas and elections; hence Florida being the red wave state but most of the rest of the country isn't. Same reason why Florida, despite being a large state, can get all the votes counted early in the evening.

Maybe Florida should just become its own nation and secede?

You should secede

Trump’s splintering the party. I miss the McCain-Bush Republicans.
I mean, it's pretty obvious that in most parts of the country you have to run candidates who are electable in a general election. Nothing new there. The Trump loyalty test might work in Alabama, but it's not going to work in most states. The Georgia race should be the most telling. Kemp just pimp walked to a win and Walker is going to probably have to go to a runoff.

I'm curious to see how Trump is going to react to this. If he ends up blaming Kevin McCarthy, which is possible, that would be hilarious. McCarthy has spent a lot of time bending the knee, so it would be interesting if it backfired on him.
There’s a less than zero chance Trump forms his own 3rd party and runs in 2024. I think Desantis made a major statement last night and the party could shift their focus to him for the national.

whomever controls senate and house will do so by the slimmest of margins. It’s crystal clear….supporters of both parties that claim one or the other truly represents america are FULL…..OF…..SHIT.
This. Not shockingly, the middle and majority of America loves the middle. The spin on all of this from both sides will reach sad and comical levels. And, it comes back to the idea that if you can run good, quality people as candidates, you've got a shot. Look at both PA results and the split in GA. If either party runs someone good, it wouldn't be close.

Who has claimed that? I know people don’t love the MAGA movement. I don’t care.

Why the doom and gloom from some here? GOP taking the House and potentially the Senate. Biden and Dem agenda will be neutered. I wanted enough to impeach Biden but I’ll be perfectly happy with nothing happening until 2024.

You can’t run “someone good”. Few “good”people want to do it and the ones that do, aren’t on the take so the masters won’t let them win.

Impeaching Biden does nothing other than continue the bs party agenda. And if convicted in the senate, we'd get the laughing hyena. Regardless, neutering him via the legislative bodies doesn't stop his pen and administrative policies.

And depending on the way Arizona and Nevada shake up, Georgia could be the race that decides all. And suburbanites are not going to be as motivated to vote for Walker as they were for Kemp.

If the Dems had a brain they’d throw all their money behind Josh Shapiro from PA for 2024. That dude is charismatic as shit and he’s young (relative to the rest).

However, they don’t have a brain so Harris it is.

Ugh, please God no. Kamala Harris might be the single most uninspiring VP in history. And that's being kind.

If the GOP wins the House but only by 1-3 seats it might prove impossible for McCarthy or anyone to govern as Speaker. And right now, it does look like they'll take the House but by the slimmest of margins.

Not concerned with the “bs party agenda”. This is what politics will be moving forward. Get with it or lose.

Biden is old and weak. I’ll bet he doesn’t make another two years. He will either die or be asked to step down.

The next two years with Joey and Hoey are gonna be very interesting. If the past two years are any indication, they will have to do something, but do they hand the keys over to the VP or stash her somewhere else? They can't really install her unless they want to tank 2024 can they?

Just think this is a losing approach in the long-term. Made up fabrications and making a mountain out of a molehill are not reasons for impeachment. In fact, I have previously expressed how I thought it was a mistake to go after Clinton for his indiscretions. Someone has to focus on actual, real reasons. Not liking someone because your person lost an election and you have the vehicle to potentially get them out is not a basis for impeachment.

there's a glitch in the gears this morning. I apologize if my posts are duplicating, even though they are worth reading several times.

I'd offer a defense but I find no error with this statement.
and now my posts have been successfully deleted, WTF is going on?

Anyway, I was saying that although many of your political persuasion would agree with us, they would still elect her. And in fact, I wouldn't mind getting a peek at your ballot if that time comes..

Currently they're in a back room doing everything they can to get someone or something to convince Trump to run in 2024. If Trump is on the ticket it doesn't matter who the Dems have opposing him.

yes please continue not to care. Supporters of both parties claim their party represents what’s best for america ignoring the moderates and independents. If you and them want to continue to deny that then you’re gonna continue failing miserably in prognosticating elections.

Regarding House, 2024 is supposed to be more favorable for Dems based on seats opening up, so the final tally is still pretty important.

The red mid-cycle spotting wasn't a total loss long-term for conservatives though, NC and OH got somewhat hammered, meaning more gerrymandering is coming, meaning easier path to control the House for the GOP.
