I'm disconnected from the outcome. I really don't like how large and important politics and elections have grown to be, year-after-year, never ending cycle, including now weeks before - and after - election day .
I don't think elections were ever meant to be life and death to so many. Each person should be free to govern him/herself for the most part. Or be governed more at a state / local level, not so much at a federal govt behemoth level. The federal government trying to "fix" the stupid people or states that don't necessarily bend the knee to the federal government overlords.
Regardless of party, sadly most pols are the same - the uni-party of out of touch career politicians, never leaving, never accountable, getting rich and seizing power over individuals and states.
Federal government and all the agencies and bureaucracies and power-overreach - wasn't the intention.
The power in US Senate and US House of Representatives, and the lobbying, corruption - wasn't the intention.
The importance of who sat on the US Supreme Court, as a life or death battle - wasn't the intention.
I want government and elections to matter less. The end.
Sounds like something a colonizer would say.
