OOTB's Political Thread . ..

On the contrary. I'm entertained. Partly with the idiocy of the general population and partly with watching your obsession with me play out here. Keep following my poasts.
are you trying to make me jealous? He only obsesses on you when he isn't obsessing on me, and he's been neglecting me for you on this visit. Frankly, sometimes I sort of miss his nose obsessing on the crack of my ass.

I have no idea who he obsesses on when he goes on hiatus from here,. but I'm pretty sure he gets the piss beaten out of him there as well. He is relentless in his effort to be a punching bag, and I think he comes back here when his tormentors get tired of pummeling him at the other place. He must like having the piss beaten out of him, probably some sexual tendency developed in that high school locker room he was so fond of visiting.

Go ahead and have your fun, but leave some for me.

I'm gonna start calling you Calvin.
You should have known when you hitched your wagon to Trump that it wouldn't end well, poopslinger. Hardy har har.

There's a simple reason for this. Land and housing in those areas are still relatively cheaper. It's not because blue cities and states are 'shitholes' and said areas have been completely ruined. Yes, they have problems just as red states do. It's not a suffering contest.

I just find it incredibly funny sometimes that some people, especially in the South, whine and complain about northeners and Yankees moving to their states, turn around and brag about it in the same breadth as a means to one up the blue states they came from, then also worry that these same newcomers are going to 'ruin' their states too.

If it wasn't for people moving north to the south and west, those places would be just as economically irrelevant and culturally stationary as they were prior to this shift beginning in the 80s and 90s.
Bullshit! The reason people are leaving states like NY, NJ, Maryland, Illinois, California, etc… in droves is because decades of unchecked liberalism have destroyed those states. High cost of living, exorbitant taxes, high crime rates, substandard schools are all a direct result of Democratic policies. And yes, people in the states that these liberals are fleeing to do not want them bringing their liberal policies to our states and destroying them. What about that can’t you understand? If we wanted to live in a state with all these self imposed problems, we’d move to NY or California. We don’t and I find it hard to believe you’d want your quality of life to deteriorate to that point either, even with your far left ideology.
Another deep, well-thought-out poast.

Serious question. Do you actually attempt to research, read, or actually prove a verifiable link with these statements? Or do you just listen to Tucker Carlson and take his word for it verbatim?

The primary reasons residents from the North move to the South are the climate and lower cost of living. I welcome them all and am happy that North Carolina has become the new home to many of these Yankees and their "unchecked liberalism." I'd rather have them as neighbors than stupid rednecks who park their car on the front lawn.

Says one of the most biased poasters on the board. I don’t watch Fox, nor CNN, nor MSNBC, nor any of the other MSM outlets on TV. I do my own research because most of what you see on TV is half truths or downright lies. Do you deny that the states I mentioned have been run predominantly by Dems for decades? That those states have some of the very highest tax rates, highest cost of living, highest crime rates? There is a direct correlation between years and years of Democratic policies and the results those states have seen occur. But you, like most Libs who flee their home states, refuse to acknowledge the correlation. That would mean admitting your culpability for the condition of those states.

Lol Fetterman is brain dead but Herschel Walker’s CTE addled crazy ass brain must be incredibly sound.

The logic on here.
Incredibly sound? I don't see anyone here claiming that Walker's a genius, but maybe I missed it. At any rate, he at least is functional and capable of expressing whatever pertinent thoughts he has. I doubt he's ever begun to address an audience with 'good night everybody'.

The plain truth of the matter is that there were a lot of voters who might have voted for either an articulate Oz or an incoherent Fetterman but inexplicably voted in the zombie. Don't we have enough of them in the dem party already?

Herschel is smart enough to know how to look presentable. Fetterman doesn’t look the part of literally any job, let alone that of a US Senator. He dresses for the role of ghetto corner crack dealer.

Fetterman has trouble with auditory processing, but it is fleeting since he is healing from the stroke. So he can read and write but listening and processing what he's hearing is the problem. As long as everything is translated into writing (like a deaf person without signing) - he's fine.

So this is a minor problem that will improve with time. Nothing is going to fix Walker

Doctors have said 90% of improvement happens in the first 6 months. He is what he is now. But I think it’s a benefit for him. If he could clearly state his criminal policies, it might not have worked out as well for him.

Imagine being new to politics and making a run for the most despicable federal politician. Dude is a criminal and looks like a homeless thug.

Can we talk about the things you mention?

exorbitant taxes - agreed, NY and some other places have high taxes

High cost of living - cost of not living in a shithole state. FL, Tx, etc are in the middle, while Miss is bottom.

high crime rates - Crime is no higher in blue states. This is a myth. Bring some legit sources if you wanna debate.

substandard schools- Can you explain this one? Are you contrasting public schools in blue states with those in red states?

Uh, first of all bud, I did the opposite. My family went from NC to Massachusetts. I've lived here ever since and I love it. I can promise you, we're doing just fine lol.

Second, let's also establish that I do not watch any of the major news outlets either. For basic news, I go with the BBC. For opinion or essay pieces, I pick and choose between Reason.com, the Atlantic, The Economist, the Wall Street Journal, and the occasional article from Vox or the National Review. Do I have tendencies in some directions? Sure. Everyone does.

Now beyond that, I watch documentaries, some reliable YouTubers, and read books. Mostly history but some other subjects as well.

So yes, blue states do generally have higher costs of living and higher taxes. It's a trade off. People up here typically get paid more, have better functioning social services, and better education. But we pay more in taxes. And because many blue states are union states and much of the land has been developed already, it makes sense people would go south and west for cheaper housing and lower taxes. But many red states are also poorer and lag behind in other ways.

So it's not such a black and white matter. Certainly not this delusional belief that liberals ruined their own cities so they therefore move to other places and ruin them too. Crime has risen across the board, not just in blue areas. Out of the top 10 states for median household income, almost all of them are blue. In terms of GDP, only Florida and Texas are the only two red states that crack the top 10.

I have no idea where you buy into this narrative but I'd dig just a little deeper before you write us all off.

Walker devoted a whole segment of his speech to talking about vampires and werewolves. That's not exactly 'pertinent thought.' He's often incoherent and babbling. There is little doubt he has severe CTE.

At least Fetterman isn't a wife abuser and a deadbeat. Dr. Oz wasn't really that great of a candidate either, let's be real.

who said Oz was a great candidate? I mentioned him only in responding to your comparison of Walker to Fetterman. But since you brought it up, at least Oz could successfully string words together in the proper order.

And who says you can't talk about vampires and werewolves, and how was that not pertinent to what he was discussing? You aren't mentally deficient just because you talk about vampires and werewolves, but there was clear mental deficiency going on with Fetterman whatever he might be trying to say.

Walker might be at times incoherent and he might babble, but as I pointed out, I doubt he ever began an address with 'good night everybody'.

And going back to Oz, I deleted a paragraph about him from my original reply to you because I didn't want to severely tax Heels Noir's literacy. But in it I pointed out that I pigeonholed him as a loon years ago, on the basis of only a few glimpses of him on whatever TV show it was that he used to be on. Basically a snake oil salesman and passing out advice that I was shocked they were letting him get away with. Still, I would have to vote for him over a virtual zombie even if I wasn't conservative.

And please forgive my apparent lack of empathy for Fetterman. I do hope he recovers. But his recovery would best be undertaken while not being a representative of the people, IMHO. I'm laughing my ass off at the attempts here to minimize his obvious deficiencies.

what do you suppose he thought he heard when he began an address by saying 'good night everyone'?

I don't care if Walker is fixed. What I want fixed is us, and I don't think Warnock can help much in that regard.

Perhaps I should been clearer. I think Fetterman is a bit brain damaged but not crazy. I think Herschel is crazy and brain damaged. It’s similar to Antonio Brown. The guy was a narcissistic asshole beforehand and CTE has only made it worse with whacky, toxic behavior. Now in fairness to Herschel, I do think he was diagnosed with dissociative identity disorder so that could be a contributing factor. But to me, if you talk the party angle out of it; meaning you can’t dismiss Warnock because he’s a member of the party you think is damaging the country, I think Warnock beats Walker by a mile in terms of overall capacity to serve. He was just a bad candidate.

Now on the flip side of that coin, I’m on record saying it’s more than fair to question Fetterman’s ability due to his stroke. Oz was probably better suited in that regard. But we agree that he’s essentially a snake oil salesman. To what degree Fetterman’s recovered remains to be seen.

And of course, we all pray for his health.

💯. Great post. One of his all time greats: “we could let out basically all of the convicted felons and nobody would be any less safe”. Good luck with that, PA. I only hope the murder / rape / child molestation victims of the wrongly released felons are people who voted for this criminal pig. Sadly we know that won’t be the case. Lots of innocent people hurt or killed by POS fkheads like this guy’s policies.

^^^^^^I don't know why this kind of comparison matters so much to some. It's typical of those who hate Trump, to dwell on issues that don't directly relate to comparative competency. You can call Walker crazy or brain-damaged or a sex maniac but your opinion doesn't matter. It's just your opinion.

What matters is what we see.

And you've seen them. Crazy or brain-damaged or whatever the F you might think about them, Fetterman can't tie his own shoes and Walker CAN. THAT is the kind of thing that matters regarding one's ability to effectively be a congressman or much of anything else.

This argument would make a lot more sense if A) you were not so blatantly biased yourself. B) If Herschel Walker was actually a good candidate. Which he is not. If he were mentally sane, which he is not.

And by the way, Trump isn't competent either.

wait, what? I was talking about the reality of what is observable. What does my bias have to do with what we both actually have seen? Am I somehow so biased that we didn't actually see it? That train wreck of a debate didn't really happen because of my bias?

I think you just put your knee-jerk lib blinders on, which keeps you from discerning what's real and what isn't..

When you're so biased that you just flat-out ignore reality, you don't need to talk about anyone else's biases.

And by the way, you seem to have lost track of what we were discussing, which was Walker compared to Fennerman, and not how good a candidate Walker is or how competent Trump is. Funny you're telling me about Walker's worth as a candidate when I've already indicated to you I agree he might not be a great one....just a better one than Fennerman.

let me make sure I understand. The northerns, etc., in question are moving to shithole States to avoid the high cost of NOT living in a shithole State? Doesn't that mean that they can't afford to not live in said shithole States? And doesn't that beg the question of why they can't afford to stay where they are in order to avoid moving to a shithole State?

Doesn't that mean you are in agreement with @Archer2

Dude if I'm knee jerk, you're knee jerk on steroids.

You want to write Fetterman off because of his stroke? Fine by me. At least the man has a longstanding career in politics and government. Herschel Walker is a weirdo at best, a psycho at worst, and ran because he kissed Trump's ass enough. Sorry, that doesn't make him a better candidate just because he didn't suffer brain damage (actually he has but that's beside point).

As usual, we're not going to agree on it.
