OOTB's Political Thread . ..

If you look deep into anything that's been around since like the 1940's you're gonna find racism.

Did you know the phrase "grandfathered in" is racist? How about going to a picnic?

You have to draw a line between "yeah, that's probably not ok" and just searching for racism in every brand/phrase/symbol.

I'm not directing this at you necessarily, but this is an example of the nonsensical thought processes that see racism in everything. The term 'grandfathered' is self-explanatory, and is NOT racist. It means exactly what it indicates and nothing more; something that's allowed to continue in spite of changes that apply to the newly considered. The fact that it was used in a racist situation or even first used in such a context does not make the term racist. That's beyond asinine. It's like saying that if a racist shoots a black person, guns are racist.

I'm not trying to upset you. But since you brought that up, you are obviously upset. Why do you feel the need to try to make me believe that you're laughing? Just more evidence of what I'm trying to tell you; you are limited and your spewage indicates it. You're a drivel machine.

Says the guy claiming hating trump comes from hating America

bwahahahahahaha!!!!

stop man stop!!! You’re killing me.

Lol you couldn’t pigeonhole yourself any better If I wrote the scripture
so you decline to accept my challenge. You don't even try. What a surprise. We know why, I've been saying it all along. All you can do is recite your mantra of hogwash. That's all you have.

“trump tried to dig the truth out” BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

man that’s the funniest shit I’ve read in weeks

but he’s not a right wing trump supporter remember!

show me where I have denied being a conservative and a supporter of Trump's Presidency. Conservatives who support Trump's Presidency are hardly a fringe group, as you have previously suggested I am part of. And supporting Trump's Presidency is not synonymous with approving of Trump personally You don't have the intellect to think things through so you jump to conclusions and pigeonhole, because you don't have the ability to make a reasoned argument. Presumption is what idiots use in place of reason.

You or Trump either one know the first thing about being a conservative.

sure thing, I should probably get that guidance from a liberal so I can get it right. But then, getting that right means nothing to me. I believe what I believe and that's all that matters.

So maybe you should talk to willhelm and company about me being a conservative if labels are what concern you. Actually though, I shouldn't have said I was 'a' conservative because I'm not...I'm just conservative. And who cares, other than the knee jerk dweebs I just referred to, whether Trump has a proper label. Labels are often shortcuts for dummies. All I know is that I agree with enough of his agenda that I support having him as President over any other actual candidate.

Seriously, I'd love to see the next minute of him getting his ass beat.
I'd love to see the entire episode and not just the portion that allows some to portray this as an exhibition of racism. I heard no racially provocative language, although I might have missed it. All I saw was a man who apparently lives in a restricted community telling some apparent outsiders, who happened to be black, that they don't belong there. Maybe they were soliciting and that's what he was objecting to. Maybe they just didn't belong there because it's a restricted community that they don't belong to. In any case, I see no reason to jump to the conclusion that he was motivated by race merely on the basis that different races were involved.

But suppose he is a racist. If he had a legitimate reason to want those people gone, what difference does it make? When I get my chicken sandwich at the drive-thru and the black kid serving me is not particularly courteous, I spend no time whatsoever worrying about whether he is racially motivated. Some people are just more courteous than others. No harm was done. Suppose I decide to stop right there and eat my sandwich while the line backs up behind me. If a black manager comes out and says I have to move, the last thing that occurs to me is whether he is motivated by race. I assume he's motivated by common sense and the requirements of his position. But suppose I catch the first black kid spitting in my sandwich. I STILL spend no time worrying about racial motives because all that matters is that the SOB spit in my sandwich. It just amazes me that all these people are led to inserting race into everything because they have somehow allowed no-minds to foster in their heads the idea that that is what should happen. It's lunacy.

What specifically about his agenda do you agree with?
the throttling of ILLEGAL immigration and the ensuing incorporation of illegals into society and benefits that should belong only to actual citizens, the protection of the U.S. from trade and other imbalances of fairness, the unmasking of the one-sided fake news media, the notion (if not the reality) of simplifying taxes, not burdening business with social agendas and taxes to support the same, not turning the world upside down just because Sam feels like Sally on any given day, etc., etc.

I STRONGLY disagree with him on scientific matters in general and environmental concerns in particular. He reminds me of Rush Limbaugh in that regard. I love Rush Limbaugh when he dissects a liberal, because he understands their wackiness. But when he tells me there's no global warming because there was frost in Florida, I turn to another station. Same with Trump.

Calling me a liberal show how little you know. The fact that you still support Trump is all that needs to be said.

gives you a well-needed break from digging out boogers, I betcha.
Bogeys need removing.

You've said ONE thing in this thread that made sense to me, or that I agreed with. Someone- anyone- is only conservative or liberal based on the other people around them.

well sure, there are few absolutes in real life. Everything is relative, and 'liberal' and 'conservative' are particularly relative terms. The meaning is as contextually-derived as just about anything we deal with. That being said, however, one can establish his immediate surroundings as his frame of reference, or he can broaden that to the entire universe....or something in between. So that what is 'conservative' in a certain locale might be considered 'liberal' in a different place or on a broader scale... or vice versa.

I have to think though that when we use the terms generally, we are using the entire nation as a frame of reference. Some people might not get that.

Are we best friends now?

I don't have BEST friends.

LOL, while you're at it, open a big bag of lick my gonads and think what it says about you that someone had to point this out to you. Hint; I've been telling you all along what it says about you.

I don’t know about y’all but that moment when trump made a point to prove he could drink a glass of Water with one hand sent tingles up my spine! And then he just THREW the damn glass like “how you like me now bitches!!!” Truly one of the most inspiring moments in presidential history. I jumped up and screamed “That’s my fuking president!!!”

I'd rather Chappelle lecture me when I thought I was at a comedy show than have Trump explain whatever the hell he was explaining when I thought I was at a rally.

I'd like to see Biden and Trump race. It would take Trump an hour to get half way, then he would stop and declare that he already passed the finish line and ran the best race in the history of races. Biden would get lost because he would forget what he was doing and then start sniffing someone's hair.

He refuses to forgive himself for ALMOST having a Gerald Ford moment, and droned on for like 15 minutes explaining what didn't happen, but might have.

If I’m Biden’s campaign manager I just run ads 24/7 featuring Trump claiming at his rally he intentionally slowed down the coronavirus testing process.

Yeah that's shitty. Then there's this which is just shitty media outlets reporting false stuff:

Which is just falsely attributing higher positive numbers to a Trump rally when the lag time for a positive test after being infected is usually 2-5 days. There's no way the rise in cases could be already linked to this rally. How are people going to believe the actual bad things when you falsely report bad things?

It all sucks.

The tweet mentions the rally but the piece itself doesn’t mention it.

Yep - clickbait. Not sure if that makes it better or worse. Probably worse.
It’s worth mentioning that the person who writes the article often doesn’t write the headline. The transition from print media to online media has led the industry to self-inflict wounds with clickbait, which also leaves readers poorly informed and diminishes civil discourse. But we keep clicking anyway.

Pretty good summary here: https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/lets-stop-arguing-with-headlines-that-the-writer-didnt-write

People who want to abolish the department of education are generally the people who actually need it the most.
