OOTB's Political Thread . ..

I get the feeling that you believe you've done or pointed out something clever, and I hope that that is the case. But could you explain just what that was? I'm having a hard time seeing it.
Well, obviously you're having a hard time seeing it.

Yes I agree this is one of the stupid ones, but these guys can still vote so it would be a mistake to discount them just because they’re stupid, like I did in 2016. We need to rid our government of these people. UNC7100 taught me one thing, you can’t write a person off just because they’re stupid.

that's a little better, but the part I'm having a hard time seeing is the funny part in the original. Why don't you start over and try rewording that awful, ham-handed handicapped cyclops deal.

I think he was being facetious... I think
we should know by now that if one is so disposed, he can take the whole truth and carve out pieces of it and put them together in a way that makes a terrible impression of the subject or a highly favorable one.....while being able to truthfully assert that he has not lied. And that doesn't apply only to journalism.

Therefor it behooves to take whatever you read with a grain of salt; especially a publication like The Atlantic, which has shown a strong inclination to defame Trump. I never read their trash and because I know they are willing to present one-sidedly, I won't, even if they start bashing the other side.

I want the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help me God. I know of nowhere or no thing that provides that.

In a conversation with senior staff members on the morning of the scheduled visit [to the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery near Paris in 2018], Trump said, “Why should I go to that cemetery? It’s filled with losers.” In a separate conversation on the same trip, Trump referred to the more than 1,800 marines who lost their lives at Belleau Wood as “suckers” for getting killed.

In a 2018 White House planning meeting for [a military parade], Trump asked his staff not to include wounded veterans, on grounds that spectators would feel uncomfortable in the presence of amputees. “Nobody wants to see that,” he said.

Surely these comments are taken out of context to harm the president. And who can really trust the four White House sources, AP investigative journalist Jim LaPorta, or the senior U.S. Marine Corps officer, all of whom corroborated these quotes. It's not like Trump ever called George H.W. Bush a "loser" for getting shot down as a pilot during World War II. It's not like Trump ever told a recently widowed Army wife that "he knew what he signed up for." It's not like Trump ever desecrated the Memorial Wall at the CIA just days after becoming president. It's not like Trump ever got into an ugly public dispute with a Gold Star family whose son was killed in Iraq. It's not like Trump ever said John McCain was "not a war hero" and called him a "loser" for getting captured (something he's now trying to deny saying). These accusations are totally out of character for him. I refuse to believe any of it. /s

The Atlantic is one of the most respected publications on the planet. Reporting what Trump says and does is not defaming him, he does that himself.

Regarding Trump's July 4th military parade, during a planning session at the White House after seeing the Bastille Day parade in 2017, the President said regarding the inclusion of "wounded guys" "that's not a good look" "Americans don't like that," source confirms.

Reminds me of the film "Born On The Fourth Of July"... when the vets marched in the parades, even those in wheelchairs and amputees. I guess they should have had a better PR person run those parades so as to not make the other people uncomfortable.

More losers:

@JenGriffinFNC this chick is confirming it from people that were with him.
You are right. Trump's on fire. It's almost like the WH does something crazy every day to shift the focus away from the ridiculously bad thing the prior day.

Say some delusional stuff about "dark shadows" and "rioters in uniforms on a plane" - quick, somebody put out a denial on mini-strokes.

Polls look awful and we realize covid plasma isn't the "gamechanger" - quick someone put a statement that we're going to buy up tests just to help Big10 play football AND tell NC'rs to vote twice.

The Paris cemetery news hits the stand - quick order "stars and stripes" shutdown.

in between cobra kai episodes tonight, i might stroll over and checkout the fair and balanced coverage on fox news

Whatever works.
If your goal is to piss off the military, then it's working.

“Among active-duty service members surveyed in the poll, 41 percent said they would vote for Biden, the Democratic nominee, if the election was held today. Only 37 percent said they plan to vote to re-elect Trump.”

Same article says 88% identify as republican, so it isn't that they're all becoming Dems, they just see Trump as horrible for the country.

I wonder what the poll would say now about recent news on this Paris Cemetery loser stuff.

Maybe Trump is just a big fan of Sonny Corleone:

"... they're 'saps' because they risk their lives for strangers." and that "Your country ain't your blood."

Jeffrey Goldberg is one of the media members who lied to get us into the Iraqi war. He wrote several articles in the New Yorker about how Saddam had ties to Al-Qaeda in 2002/2003. His works were literally cited by Bush/Cheney when they made the case for war.

I wouldn't trust a single word a Neocon says about Trump. To them, he is an existential threat.

Same goes for Bill Kristol. He is constantly tweeting and retweeting stuff to slam Trump. And, frankly, I find Kristol to be a far bigger threat to the whole world, not just the USA. It makes me conflicted.
