I'm not saying that it's perfect, but it does work. Suicide bombings have drastically dropped since they built the wall. There are certainly better options out there for our situation, but I don't think for a second that it wouldn't stem the tide of immigration.
Personally, I don't think it ever happens. I've never believed that it would happen. However, something needs to be done about the immigration issue.

A wall will slow down people crossing the border. No one disputes that. What is disputed is how many would illegals would choose not to become illegals were there a wall in place.
You attempted to argue this from a cost benefit. We blew that up. Now you have said it will work and that's that. Reminds me of the people who say man made climate change is real and when you ask why, the response is "science".
We never really finished the cost/benefit argument, and we were going off of bad intel on top of that. I understand that you don't want the wall. I'm not real enamoured by it myself. All that being said, along a long enough timeline, it becomes beneficial to build it. How long would it take? That seems to be where we're having a disagreement.

It doesn't matter what they/you identify as. Do you think most Democrats would identify themselves as "authoritarian" or as "liberals"? That would make me easy to counter, and they would be more than happy to beat me into the ground. The issue with those guys is that they know I'm right, and they can't argue otherwise. I'm always more than happy to argue against people like them, or naturalmwa, Joesplace, or mstp...because those people don't understand their own arguments. I live off of that. I crush "educated" people who haven't been taught how to think. That's what I do. That's why I get ignored. Again, if these people were so smart, they could crush my arguments with little dissent, but that doesn't happen. It's like if I ignored Fred on HROT. Why would I do that? The guy is a mental invalid. I would rather keep him around to make me look better. The bottom line is that I've crushed the delusions of grandeur of a few people on this board, just like I've done on every other board. They aren't smart. They might be "educated", but they aren't smart. That's their cross to bear, not mine. They get to live with their shortcomings and disappointments.
