A little cushin for the pushin!
Dude... I am abundantly aware that very, very few people think and act like me. But, it doesn't hurt to share how I think and act. I certainly don't expect people think and act like me either. Contrast is a good thing for me, too! However, thinking that everyone is like you is naive at best, and monumentally stupid at worst.

But, I do try to focus on the potential good in people. Defaulting to the potential bad is not how I wanna live. That may be naive, but that is my choice.
That's another thing about this that we agree. I hate that this whole fiasco allowed Obama to step-in look like "the good guy" and play social moderator. We should be focusing more on the real reason this come into the spotlight-- the minimum wage. Now, every Social Justice Warrior is going to try and slip-in more language censorship over this, too.Ok, and that's great. I try to focus on the potential good in people too, and defaulting to the potential bad isn't how I wanna live either. But the fact is that there is potential bad out there. And making laws/bills/decrees that enable that potential bad, is IMO, a bad idea. And if something bad arises from the naivety, then people will end up feeling stupid they were so naive in the first place.
But being an arrogant douche will never be cool.Being a fossil will only be cool a million years from now. You'll have to wait.
No, I know exactly what point he's feebly trying to make. But you're new here, it's ok.I think you missed the whole point Strum was making, dude... LOL... nevermind
I love how anti HB2 folks have now shifted their argument to this minimum wage BS. Funny, they didn't mention it 3 weeks ago - but as soon as Obama pulled this crazy nationwide school decree (which they mostly admit is wrong) they've had to divert attention away from the risk that "go in whatever bathroom or locker room you want" poses.
"Waaaaaaa, it's not about bathrooms, waaaaaaa waaaa" .....sorry, yes it is, for the majority of Americans.
Oh I know what's in there, I've read it. My point is this: few anti HB2 folks (on OOTB or elsewhere) were mentioning minimum wage until the DOJ made this misstep.Read HB2 in its entirety and you'll see. There's always a distraction covering up something.... Always
I've seen it mentioned hereby someone fora few weeks now but I think the whole thing is ridiculous. They created a problem we didn't have for lots of reasons. That's what narrow minded people do.Oh I know what's in there, I've read it. My point is this: few anti HB2 folks (on OOTB or elsewhere) were mentioning minimum wage until the DOJ made this misstep.
Me and most sensible Americans care far more about this stupid bathroom issue than anything else in the Bill. Hence the widespread backlash in the last 24 hours.
This post is 100% correct.I and others on this board have pointed out that the bathroom issue is a cover for the state's power grab on wages and anti-discrimination policy since the moment HB2 was passed. To state otherwise you've either been completely ignoring the discussion or you're just deliberately lying about what you've read. Should we check the record or would you like to go ahead and walk that one back to save face?
Yes, I did mention it and it was brought up by several other posters.I love how anti HB2 folks have now shifted their argument to this minimum wage BS. WHY would you ever care about a "stupid bathroom issue" if it is, in fact, stupid?Me and most sensible Americans care far more about this stupid bathroom issue than anything else in the Bill. .
Who should dictate minimum wage laws? The federal government? If you guys seriously want the yahoos that are on town boards and city councils in North Carolina to have control over minimum wages, then there is truly no hope. In my best Slim Pickens- "I am depressed!".
Ha! It being stupid doesn't mean I can't care. Abortion is also stupid, but I care about those laws too. Gun control is stupid, but I care about those laws. Need I go on??WHY would you ever care about a "stupid bathroom issue" if it is, in fact, stupid?
A free market, but that's another argument and I've already broken my rule to never comment in a political thread, and, for that, I apologize. By all means, carry on.Who should dictate minimum wage laws? The federal government?
Went back and looked, you mentioned it at post #359 ...Jules mentioned it twice in the previous 358 posts. Raising Heel mentioned it once in 359 posts. AKA non-issue overall.Yes, I did mention it and it was brought up by several other posters.
It don't matter if you are for it or against it. It's a non-issue. It won't make any difference if it is a law or not. There is no problem with bathrooms to fix....period.So simple question for Chicks, Strum and other anti HB2 posters: forgetting minimum wage for a moment, I'm curious, do you agree with the DOJ school bathroom decree?
By all means, go on. Go on caring about stupid things to you. That sounds productive.Ha! It being stupid doesn't mean I can't care. Abortion is also stupid, but I care about those laws too. Gun control is stupid, but I care about those laws. Need I go on??
Cmon, play along, stop dodging - do you agree with Obama on the school bathroom decree or not? It's a simple question. It don't matter if you are for it or against it. It's a non-issue. It won't make any difference if is a law or not. There is no problem with bathrooms to fix....period.

Appreciate the support bud!By all means, go on. Go on caring about stupid things to you. That sounds productive.
Thank you, I respect that.no I do not. Obama should have never got involved in it at all. We did not have a problem before and why continue to make one? that is stupid... making a problem out of nothing.
That's the point. I don't care because it is a non-issue. It's like asking me if I care if the moon turns to blue cheese. Which side should I pick? What difference does it make!!!!!Cmon, play along, stop dodging - do you agree with Obama on the school bathroom decree or not? It's a simple question.
Then why do you keep responding to this topic at all? You obviously care to some degree. Weird. That's the point. I don't care because it is a non-issue. It's like asking me if I care if the moon turns to blue cheese. Which side should I pick? What difference does it make!!!!!
YES, bring it Dan!!
Lieutenant Governor Dan Forest released the following statement in response to President Obama's bathroom policy directive:
"North Carolina will not stand by and let our locker rooms and high school showers be used for social experimentation at the expense of the privacy and protection of our young boys and girls. I do not think it is appropriate for teenage boys and girls to share the same bathroom. I don't think it appropriate for teenage boys and girls to shower next to each other. I don't think it is appropriate for male coaches and male teachers to have access to girls' locker rooms and showers while the young girls are naked and exposed. I feel confident, the vast majority of North Carolina parents feel the same.
The President needs a reminder that the United States Constitution grants education decision authority to the states and localities not to the President of the United States. Our current state policy protects our children by maintaining bathrooms and restrooms consistent with the biological sex of the child and already gives schools, should special circumstances arise, the freedom to grant private single stall - single shower bathroom accommodations to individuals who might not otherwise be comfortable using the bathroom of their biological sex or a bathroom shared with other people. This is the only reasonable response to the situation that exists today. Opening all showers and all restrooms to all sexes at all times as the President is suggesting, is not a reasonable solution, but an invitation for violations of privacy and personal safety.
North Carolina public schools in receipt of the President's letter are reminded that there is a binding state law on the books governing bathroom policy and the President's non-binding directive is merely his attempt to push his version of a social policy on our state with no Constitutional authority to do so. It should be rejected as a matter of principle and policy."
Well, we mentioned it and all the old white guys who are obsessed with sex in bathrooms kept talking about the sex in bathrooms. Or potential sex there. Or, the possibility of potential sex there. Or, the assumption that there might possibly be potentially more sex in bathrooms.Went back and looked, you mentioned it at post #359 ...Jules mentioned it twice in the previous 358 posts. Raising Heel mentioned it once in 359 posts. AKA non-issue overall.
So the 'minimum wage' thread mention is similar to the .3% tranny population. Appropriate.
Well, the Governor is not "the free market" any more than the President or the justice Department is. So, there was lots of fail to go around here.A free market, but that's another argument and I've already broken my rule to never comment in a political thread, and, for that, I apologize. By all means, carry on.

Handicapped people are .blank of the % of the population, but we allow for them to have their special needs addressed. And, we should. If it inconveniences or makes the rest of us feel awkward, tough.
You know what? Your daughters are going to eventually have sex. And, their going to probably have some of the most depraved, uninhibited, no-holds-barred sex they can imagine and indulge themselves. I hope they get to do that because sex is one of the most enjoyable activities human beings can experience. Shaming it and imposing guilt on it is just holding us all back. And, it also makes people more deviant and likely to commit sex crimes! Even in places where people are TRYING to take a piss or a dump. So, you keep telling yourself you're protecting them, when the reality is, you're wanting them to be just as ashamed of it as you are.
in a perfect world it wouldn't exist. That's a discussion that deserves it's own thread though.Who should dictate minimum wage laws? The federal government?
That's the point. I don't care because it is a non-issue. It's like asking me if I care if the moon turns to blue cheese. Which side should I pick? What difference does it make!!!!!
like those on tv where women are walking around naked in front of everyone and shower in the open... but that is not what I have ever experienced in my entire life.
If we were more highly-evolved, there would be no such thing as money. We would exist in a resource-based society, not monetary-based.in a perfect world it wouldn't exist. That's a discussion that deserves it's own thread though.
What channel is that on? Asking for a friend.I don't know if you guys think women's locker rooms are like those on tv where women are walking around naked in front of everyone and shower in the open... but that is not what I have ever experienced in my entire life. we have always had private showers and change in private. I do not really think anyone other than a few pervs will be using the ladies room/showers and a teacher/coach can drag that dipwad out by his ears.
