Coronavirus

this- along with, say, the coaches who I presume are vaccinated or at least have the option to be vaccinated...who wear the masks almost all the time under their chinstraps. Sometimes these coaches wear the masks when they are not saying anything and not near players, but they touch the masks with their dirty hands to pull them down to let the spittle fly when yelling instructions to players. Science!

You still have to wear masks when going through an airport, on an airplane, or even riding in a bus, 20 feet from any other rider. But you don't have to wear them in any other place, even in close proximity to others. Gotta hand it to that sneaky virus - it was almost going to get away with ambushing vaccinated individuals riding alone on a bus, walking vaccinated through an airport, etc...until science stepped in and thwarted it. Yay science!
it's called virtue signaling ... the logo of the sheeple.

I'll be postponing my second dose for a while:

"As of June 11, more than 1,200 cases of myocarditis or pericarditis have been reported to the U.S. Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), out of about 300 million mRNA vaccine doses administered."

What are odds of catching covid after a single shot? Benes outweigh the risk unless you are relatively distanced (or whatever).

What are the odds of catching covid before a single shot?

but here's the difference, by taking the shot i am KNOWINGLY putting "medicine" into my body that can kill me. by not taking the shot the shot i am KNOWINGLY taking the chance that i will A) catch an airborne virus ... and B) i will fall into the .02% of people my age who die from said virus.

and this leaves out the completely unknown long term effects of taking the shot ... again, vs MAYBE getting an airborne virus. it's just simple math to me. but i'm not a sheep, so.

Selfishly you left off c) be a spreader who gives it to others (and potentially help it mutate into something more serious),

Also there is d) deal with long-covid.

Sounds good to me, go for it…..

With the vaccine as available as it is, if a person get the virus it was their choice.

My understanding is that you can still catch Covid and spread it even after being fully vaccinated.

yes, vaccination alone can't guarantee that you won't get infected and spread the disease but you are extremely unlikely to spread Covid if you continue to wear a mask and gloves and use hand sanitizer and social distance responsibly by never allowing anyone else to live in the crawl space under your house with you.

Actually, that's not correct. There is still a chance you get it. Even the makers of the vaccine admit that it isn't 100% effective.
Why is that the bar though? No vaccine and virtually nothing in life is 100%. I don't get why above 90% isn't good enough for some people, but I never will and they won't ever change.

In other news, Kim Jung Un had it right all along...we're suckers with our freedom:

North Korea is, however, somewhat well placed to prevent the virus from penetrating deep within borders because people inside the country do not enjoy the freedom to move around as they please. Defectors say average North Koreans are not permitted to travel far from home without government approval, meaning there would be fewer opportunities for the virus to spread from city to city.

I'm honestly not sure if serious.

Because you think anyone that doesn’t have a Trump sticker on their car (or Chevy/Ford pickup) hates freedom.

I don't know what that statement is supposed to mean in reference to my questioning you being serious.

I also don't believe that everyone who doesn't have a Trump sticker hates freedom. I don't have a Trump sticker on my car. I actually hate bumper stickers. I think less of anyone with any sticker on their car.

ETA - But I especially hate people that have a bunch of stickers on their car. Like all those stupid "coexist" stickers and the equal signs and rainbow flags. Yes, I do think less of them than I do people with Yeti stickers and NRA stickers. But I hate those folks too. Just not as much.

ETA again - Magnets are a much better choice. Because they can be removed so easily and they won't damage your car.

We are in agreement that any sticker on your car is lame and I will look down on someone that has them.

If I saw this car pop a tire and careen off the road, I'm not stopping to help.

By the same token, if I saw the below car pop a tire and careen off the road, I might slow down and yell out the window, "you alright?" as I ride by but still not stopping.

My point was that @prlyles was wrong. I wasn't making any statement as to what should or should not be the bar.

I always laugh at the political ones that say vote for and then have the candidate's name and the year. Even if your guy wins, you still have the wrong year after the vote. Unless you are Doc Brown, then having an Obama 2008 or Gore 2000 sticker makes you look like an idiot.

Yeah I saw a Clinton 96 one a few weeks back...was just impressed that the car was still alive and running after all this time.

Not a single "South of the Border" bumper sticker to be found. Do these people not get out?

What’s as bad as bumper stickers to me are the morons who feel they have to fly flags at the beach. Can’t blame the tourists unfortunately, it’s usually locals.

They stick flags in the sand AT the beach, now??? Sheezus!

Does that include stickers of rock bands or just political shit?
Any and all stickers.

The ONLY exception I'd make is a college one over the back windshield but:

- it has to be very dull. no mascots, nothing bright. something that says the school.
- that school needs to be at least a top 100 university or top 50 college. I'm not down with Central Missouri State sticker on the car.
