Hah... you can have the first 2. o_O
Yeah I didn't say which 38 for a reason. Assuming Matt Jones is still injured Duke starting 5 will be:

Frank Jackson
Grayson Allen
Luke Kennard
Jayson Tatum
Amile Jefferson

I'm going to assume Frank gets the Berry assignment, Allen gets "Buckets," Kennard gets whoever plays the 2 for you guys, Tatum-Hicks, Jefferson-Meeks. If Pinson plays i'm not sure how that plays out. What do you guys think as far as matchups?

I'd say the matchups that you outlined are accurate. Pinson will come in and guard whoever has the hot hand - Tatum, Jackson, Allen, or Kennard.

I guess Giles and Bolden will get some time? Anyone else? Will Jeter get some burn? Do you have any other guards or is duke expecting Allen, Kennard and Jackson to play close to 40 minutes?

I'm sure Giles will get some minutes, probably Bolden or Vrank as well. Jeter is injured and hasn't dressed the last 3-4 games, not sure if he will play. Jones has an ankle injury, tried to play through it Saturday but he couldn't even make free throws so he went to the bench, would assume he plays limited minutes Thursday unless he's healed. Tatum has been playing the stretch 4 but moving to the 3 when needed so I don't expect the 3 guards to play 40 minutes.

Have they announced whether Pinson will be playing?

They haven't announced anything on Pinson yet but I would be shocked if he didn't play. He warmed up for the ND game and looked fine. I bet had we gotten into an emergency type situation, he would have played. If you've watched us with and without Pinson, you'll agree that we need him and that he's a really big piece to our team.

Well I'm no G7, but I would say that if we have more points than dook, we will win.

So what do you guys think are the keys to winning this game?
Honestly, it's usually the same things when we play dook @ H.I.S....
1. Play good perimeter D
2. Don't get burned (at least not too many times) on those damn dribble drive / kick-outs for 3's
3. Attack the interior and get them in foul trouble (if that's even possible at cameroon)
4. Make your FREE THROWS!
5. Don't let those cheer-sheet reading dipshits rattle you

Oh, and I'd like to add that we need THEO on the floor bringing the energy and the smarts.

So what do you guys think are the keys to winning this game?

Dribble penetration on both ends. They aren't good at stopping it but we really aren't great at exploiting it either. We need to try. I agree with not forcing things when the defense is going to collapse either. I don't mind Meeks or Hicks taking an open shot. We have a decent shot at the board if we miss it anyway. Obviously, we have to help at times but if we don't help unnecessarily I think we will be ok.

Clearly we have to avoid silly fouls. They are going to get some calls with the way they create contact. Those are exacerbated if we add silly fouls on top of them.

Rebounding is one of our two keys in terms of when we succeed and struggle. I think the defensive end is really key. Outside of Meeks and Maye we don't board particularly well on that end. We've all seen Duke get ORs and kick out for killer threes. They must limit that.

I want to win this game for a bunch of obvious reasons, but if we win this game, it pretty much mathematically eliminates Duke from being able to win the ACC regular season which would be very sweet to me, considering how hyped that team was going into the season. Obviously, that sort of stuff won't effect the tournament, either ACC or NCAA but if we could knock them out of any shot of getting the regular season with a month left, then that would be fine by me.

Win or lose Duke isn't winning the ACC regular season. With the unbalanced scheduling I could care less about the ACC regular season at this point, I mean it would be awesome to win it but it's not the same now that there are 276 teams in the ACC.

Reported to the THR quote thread on DI? I think the OOTB board doesn't have a quote on that thread yet. Could that one be the one to break through?
OOTB doesn't have a quote on that thread for good reason. Most of the quotes on that thread are from the same people you guys complain about on THR.

I get what you are saying, but I personally disagree because even though the schedules are unbalanced, there are still 4 HOF coaches in the conference, plus UVA, FSU, and ND, so honestly, I think it's even more of an accomplishment to win the regular season now than it was then because there are no days off. Only get one shot at one of the top dogs? Better make it count. There is a lot of talent across the conference, and anyone is capable of beating anyone. I think UNC is better than GT or Miami and Duke is better than State, but that's not how those games went. Don't get me wrong, I wish everyone played everyone twice, that's obviously the fairest, but I still think winning the regular season is a big deal.

Guys, are we gonna win tomorrow? Convince me we will because I'm not feeling it. All these losses to Duke lately have me jaded.

We're going to be small dogs (2.5 points) so odds aren't in our favor. I'll most likely be taking the points though, maybe money line, so I feel reasonably good about it.
