This wasn’t much of a secret. Stone has been saying this was coming for a while. Just seems CNN is putting in work as the most trusted news source. I’m sure Fox is reporting on a woman in Oklahoma who claims she speaks with God and he told her Obama is the antichrist.
But what can they get him with once he's out of office? Muller's investigation is supposedly going to rap up this year. That means he will know what kind of charges he might be facing. If it looks bad, then he can go ahead and resign his last day in office and Pence can pardon him. If he wins in 2020, then the same thing can happen at the end of his second term assuming the statute of limitations hasn't passed. The only possible issue is any state charges. The man isn't going to jail. I'd be more than happy to bet anyone on that.Usually I would agree with this sentiment. If I were him, I would be worried about the enemies he’s made once he’s out of office. DC doesn’t forget and he can’t be protected once he’s out.
What does that mean? Are you saying the indictments have no merit? In case anyone was wondering whether or not this a purely political investigation....

Doesn’t matter. If a member of congress wants to launch an investigation, they can. The SDNY can look at him again. They can make his life hell. There are a lot of charges that can’t be brought to a sitting president. Those same charges can be brought to a private citizen. How many Benghazi investigations did we have. If they want to make Trump’s life misery, they can.But what can they get him with once he's out of office? Muller's investigation is supposedly going to rap up this year. Nixon resigned and was not the polarizing figure that Trump is.Yeah - if Nixon didn't go to jail when there were hours upon hours of tape describing how he was breaking the law then no President will.
What does that mean? Are you saying the indictments have no merit?
Nixon resigned and was not the polarizing figure that Trump is.
Nixon knew how to go away. Trump does not. I am not saying anything will happen, but I would be nervous if I were Trump. He has disrupted and pissed off a lot of powerful people on both sides of the aisle.Dude, Nixon resigned because he really had no other choice. He was going to go through an impeachment process that would have definitely led to his removal so he tried to save a little face.
...he was also pretty freaking polarizing.
How many crimes was she charged with? How about the email investigations? How many crimes was she charged with? How many Benghazi investigations did we have.
There is a big difference between making someone's life miserable and going to jail. Do you want to make that bet?If they want to make Trump’s life misery, they can.
Ok... I admit I chuckledFox news director: “find me a missing blonde white girl story asap!!”
You are missing my point. How many crimes was she charged with? How about the email investigations? How many crimes was she charged with?

Nah. Mueller is draining the swamp.I always thought the idea was to see crime and find the person, not see the person find the crime. That's what's going on right now.
I thought Nancy Pelosi already did that.Nah. Mueller is draining the swamp.

I'm sorry.Ha - I was in Yadkinville after Xmas. And by "in" I mean driving on 421 to Raleigh.

Nancy is awful. Dems shit the bed when they put her back in power.I thought Nancy Pelosi already did that.
That will not happen. That's just not Trump. He will continue to thumb his nose at all of this. You may be right though. he may wish he had played the game. But really, the guy is 72 years old. He'll be damn near 80 when his presidency is over. He's rich enough to delay anything until he dies. He'll go to his grave thinking himself as the winner.
I love AOC. She is another version of Trump and makes me laugh with every new interview, video, tweet, etc.
He has disrupted and pissed off a lot of powerful people on both sides of the aisle.
Isn’t there some quote out there about pride and downfalls? This is why he's a champion of the people. Whether he did it on purpose, or is just too dumb to realize, doesn't really matter.

I’ll be curious to see how this all plays out. Anyone telling you what’s going to happen is FOS. We’ve never seen anything quite like this.Ya, that's what I mean. Whether he's ok with disrupting/pissing off powerful people on both sides of the aisle causing his own downfall, or is too prideful to know it could happen doesn't matter.
They weren't jaywalking. Your average American doesn't get indicted for bank fraud, conspiracy, and obstruction of justice. My favorite, though, is lying to the FBI. Really. How effing stupid do you have to be to lie to the FBI?I'm saying that these indictments could be filed against just about anyone who has spoken with the FBI. There is always something they can bust you on. Always.
Yes, I like AOC as well. And I agree on the similarity to Trump (in terms of entertainment value, not policy). She upsets the apple cart on both sides, and is pissing people off, which is awesome. I don't much like her policies (like the 70% tax), but I think she's unlikely to get support for most of them so will be pretty harmless, and the rest of what she does will be worth it.
Of course, she could get support that I don't foresee and end up turning the country socialist, but hey - I'm a gambling man, so I'll roll the dice.
Agreed. If someone could just change his twitter password, his presidency would be going a lot better.Said it before and i’ll say it again. If trump stayed the eff off twitter, showed a modicum of humility about his gaffes and had someone truth proof his speeeches (wtf writes these things?) and used....yes....a teleprompter to keep him from going off topic and saying idiotic shit he would have twice the support and be able to get more accomplished. His biggest enemy is HIMSELF. Proof? More americans supported the wall before trump became pres by a wide margin. Like 30pts! Just stfu dude!!!!!

His arrogance and obvious horrible judgement in who he associates with will catch up to him. But like @UNC71-00 says he has the resources to make sure he holds em off long enough to die thinking he won.
Same for Obama.I agree. But think about that for a minute. People supported something philosophically until Trump supported it. Then they don't support it because a guy they don't like is pushing it. That's just....lame.
Trump supporters often remark that Trump could cure cancer and people would hate him for it. What you're saying seems to back that up. While Trump is a buffoon in a lot of ways, the saddest part of American politics is what you just pointed to - people will go against what they ideologically support because someone they don't like as a person supports the same thing.

Were they even invited? Seems like it would be hard to skip something if you didn't have an invitation.
The opposition to Obama was pretty close to the opposition to Trump.Maybe the same in theory but not in practice. There's no way you can say that that the opposition to any of those guys was anything near what Trump faces. Granted, he's created much of that by being who he is. Clinton, Bush and even Obama were all more digestable by those that opposed them. But the point remains that if Trump was handing out free money, there are some people that would refuse it and then blame Trump because they're poor.
