School bathroom decree ...

while fighting to hold on to all theirs. Example: douche bags like TheClinton's ,Warren Buffett , John Kerry , super Dork Bill Gates , and the list goes on and on.
I've always wondered why some of these rich guys yell from the mountain tops about how they should be taxed more while paying an accountant thousands of dollars to make sure they pay the lowest amount of taxes possible. Why file an itemized return? Better yet, since they have so much money why not just donate all of their taxable earnings to the government? They can just live off of their savings.

I never consider celebs anyway. They make more money than I personally believe anyone's time is worth. I pay taxes, meaning I send the IRS and the state a check on April 15. I also give to charities throughout the year, especially the ones that benefit children who are sick. I would love for the money I send every year go to help the veterans, the elderly and children. I get tired of hearing about people who are working and still have to be cold in winter because they cannot afford for the power bill to get too high, the ones who are in the SHARE office seeking help to get kerosene to keep their kids warm and fed because things cost too damn much. I have seen people that have to struggle because they can't get ahead. Then I really get pissed when I hear a right wing nut spout the typical ignorant response of "they need to get off their lazy butt and work, I'm tired of taking care of them" which is so far from the truth. Only 1-3% of what you pay in goes towards food stamps, welfare and the vets/elderly. The majority goes for defense which ends up lining the CEOs of military goods with millions in profit, not even the men and women who put their lives on the line get a great benefit from it. I'm sick of supporting corporate welfare by bailing banks out and letting Wall Street and the Federal Reserve run the show around here. If you have never had to worry about how you would feed your kids or keep them warm, get on your knees and thank God or the universe you don't have to know what that is like but for goodness sake don't berate people who are wanting to help others who suffer that way. People pick out a few lazy butts that DO abuse the systems and make it difficult for others. So if a liberal is someone who wants to help others like that, sue me.....
you need to check your figures 2/3 of federal spending goes to entitlements. About 16% to Defense and homeland security. This may sound harsh but people who can't afford to have children need to stop having them.

It's because they have to appear to care about the little guy , so he will continue to spend his money with them and also if they espouse liberalism then the clueless media won't call them out on it.

Warren Buffett and Bill Gates are the top two philanthropists in the United States. Sure, they can give away loads of money and still be multi-billionaires, but saying people who give away ~40% of their net worth are "fighting to hold on to all theirs" is ridiculous hyperbole.

Buffett complains about paying more taxes than his secretary , yet when the IRS comes a calling , he lawyers up. As far as Gates he has fought the government for years and years to keep his monopoly status.

"fighting to hold on to all theirs" some times you just take things too literally.

I don't think anyone has a problem with people who want to help others. Helping others is very admirable - whether they genuinely need the help, or are abusing it.

I think the problem arises when those people tell me that I should want to help others, and then force me to do so via taxes.

You're right I forgot to put that 1-3% if your state taxes go to SNAP and welfare. The 25% in federal taxes is for Medicare and health programs and another 24% for SS with 16% on defense (these are 2015 figures).

I have been on both sides. After I divorced he disappeared to avoid paying child support and I worked my tail off raising my twins alone. There were times when I had no idea what I was going to do or how I'd feed them. I made just enough money to NOT qualify for food stamps and welfare is not an option. They make you work for that and I had a job already. Hearing people talk about people on food stamps like they were lepers and awful people prevented me from getting them for a long time. Finally I said screw them. I finally worked my way up and was able to take care of my kids and live a comfortable life (no man involved either, all me) and they are grown and on their own now. I am doing very week financially now but I haven't forgot where I've been and who treated my situation like I was scum and those who mouthed off that I must be lazy to use food stamps.

We shouldn't have anyone who works 40 hours struggling at all in this country. I guess most of you can't see the real problem and would rather take the easy way out and just blame the poor. You are so misguided if you do.
Everybody sees things from their own point of view at a particular point in time usually their lowest. If there weren't so many abuses of social services then the people who really need them would get them. Medicaid , Welfare and food stamp abuses are rampant and the government agencies show little inclination to improve them. They only seem interested in expanding the roles and not getting people to work. There are way too many people out there who will not work and Obama is intent on bringing any many more who will need social services at a time when our budget cannot stand it. I know you shrugged off the federal debt but it is a major problem and the democrat party has accelerated it the last 7 years on top of a war that was a waste so don't start talking Bush to me , cause he is in the conversation with Carter and Obama as the worst POTUS in modern times.

One thing you'll never hear me do is support a Bush lol (cringe). Honestly, I am not really on the up and up on the national debt. I feel like the Federal Reserve is a huge problem where our economy is concerned, along with banking and Wall Street involvement. I'd like to learn more though so I understand it better. It just doesn't make sense for our dollar to be worth so little now. I really don't know how we can turn it around though with the aforementioned institutions with so much power. I also don't know how the national debt can ever be reduced since it always goes up. :(

if you listen and read Ron Paul you can be very enlightened on the Fed Reserve and its abuses and dangers. I agree with a ton of what he says. Woodrow Wilson said after signing the Fed Reserve Act "I fear that I have doomed the citizens of this country".

Lol oh yes, I do have his books and in fact have heard him speak about it quite often. We wuz buddies almost lol. He is a very wise man and I learned a lot from him but when it comes to numbers I am not sure I fully grasp it. He knows what he's talking about when it comes to economics. I wish Rand had been more like him.

Liberals like to use the numbers that make them FEEL good, the actual facts just hinder their argument. Like how can liberals rail about the rich paying their fair share of taxes, AND acknowledge at the same time that the top 20% ALREADY pay 86% of all income taxes? They can't. It's better to bleat about "fair share" than to actually do the research and use real numbers- because the real numbers DESTROY their argument. Chick Bleeds seems like a level headed person, and I think she'll be a good addition to the board, but she's already re-written history to have gas at 4.00 when Bush left office. I pointed out the reality, but she's still saying that she's paying less for gas now than when Bush left, and it's simply not true.

I remember it clearly because there were a lot of significant things going on in my life at that time where I HAD to buy gas often and I kept records and complained constantly about it, so much so that I got rid of a vehicle because it sucked the gas up and I did not WANT to spend that kind of money supporting the friggin oil companies! sorry, but I DO remember it very, very well. I bitched about it every single day and everyone who knows me, can vouch for that one for sure! I worked for Dr. Ron Paul and had to travel a LOT. In fact, December 2007 is when I put a Peace rally together for him and I remember telling him personally back stage that I wish we could all afford the gas and he told me that is something the president really has little control over despite most people believing different. Gas skyrocketed after Hurricane Katrina. Look it up. I was filling up a Camry for around $40.00 and the Grand Cherokee was completely outrageous that I did not actually ever fill it up. I remember one time being in a big hurry and put 4 gallons in it and it was almost 20 bucks and it lasted half that day! The Lexus I have now I can put PREMIUM gas in and it is just under $30.00 to fill her up, at most $33. I can look for receipts I guess and see if I still have them.

Maybe I am not being clear enough.... I never said it was boom $4.00 then... it started rising then. In December 2007, I drove to Boston and it was in the $3.30 ish range... it was $4.00 a few months later. I don't like Obama but I am SURE that the moment he stepped in the oval office the gas pumps did not just all jack up to $4.00 from being $1.84 the day before.

Then you were getting gas at the wrong spot.

Agreed. The way liberals use the term "fair share" pisses me off to no end. I mean, who the f*ck are you to declare what is "fair" and what is not? Because from where I sit, anyone paying 40% and someone else paying nothing isn't fair at all. It's the opposite of "fair".

I agree the middle class gets the brunt of the BS. Trust me, I do NOT like paying taxes every year, I would SO love to get a tax refund, but we are paying for protection/defense remember and medical care, which is ridiculously high. If all people had a living wage where we did not need to help out with food assistance and such, it would be great but that is not the case. It would be great if medical costs were actually affordable and we were not forced to buy scam insurance and pay big pharma out the ass for medications. We have so many issues that never, ever get addressed, it's crazy.

I am very, very fortunate to get paid as much as I do and yes, I worked my arse off to get here. I also struggled and know what that is like too. I don't want anyone to struggle. I just get sick of people who have no clue what it is like to really not have, bitch about it. Unless you have walked in those shoes, just sit down or get off your butt and find out what it is like and WHY it is like that instead of letting Faux news brainwash you. I thought I would NEVER get my parents to see reality from all the BS they believed from that stupid "news" organization. NOW they see it.

see, it went way up, came way down, then gradually went up again and has been trending down... I know everyone likes to blame whichever commander in chief we have and you all will continue to do so... inflation typically is the result of the bs the Federal Reserve tortures us with.
The price of gas is dictated by oil output, not inflation.

What is that supposed to show me? The debate is about the cost of gas in January of 2009. You said it was $4. Dean and I both have proven that false. But neat graph.

I said it was $4 when I had my jeep in the spring... it was in the $3 range when I was driving to Boston. It may have dipped down for a month in January but look how it went right back up and stayed.... never mind.... you guys are always right... lol omg no wonder this country is so screwed... please don't tell me you love trump! omg

how nice.... go to the morgue and handle those who have actually done that to themselves... fun! smh
Lighten up. I think strum is a bad influence on you. ;)

As far as "faux" news goes, I kind of get tired of that line. It's just worn out. I'm not a big fan of the news, but if I have to pick between MSNBC, CNN or Fox then I'm picking Fox.

Raise your hand if you watch Fox News religiously or listen to conservative talk radio daily??? LOL I bet I can guess who does already... smh

I don't watch much news but when I do, it's Fox. Because I can't stand to watch biased networks riding Obama's jock when anyone in their right mind can see that he's sucked.

It was up over 4.00 in summer of 2008, and started falling after the driving season. By the election, it was just over 2.00, 1.84 by inauguration. By your graph you can see it went up gradually, not all at once.

I won't watch any of them unless a debate is on. As for strum, he is someone who absolutely seems to get it. You guys can make fun of him all day but he makes very good points. I have thought this way for a long time. I don't need anyone to influence me. I have witnessed and been through more than probably even he has to bring me to my conclusions. I have people like you guys in my family and I love them dearly but I honestly think you do not understand anything outside of your little comfortable box you sit in. Challenge yourself and go see what really is going on out there. I am not trying to be an ass either when I say that. I sincerely wish everyone could walk in other's shoes a little more. Be careful though, I was brought down a peg once, now I see that at any moment everything that makes you comfortable and that you think you "deserve" or even things you earned can quickly be taken away and you are forced to see what it is like on the other side of the fence.

.

Uhh, ok. Why does that become a "me" problem? Helping others should be a choice - not a government requirement. That's why the govt should get completely out of the helping professions and allow local based nonprofit organizations to handle the needs of people in their own community. It would operate far more efficiently and the money raised to help these programs would be raised locally. So I know that money I'm paying to help folks would be helping folks in my community - not in Kalamazoo, Michigan or where ever else. Also, we'd get a good look at what the local communities want to support.

I am very, very fortunate to get paid as much as I do and yes, I worked my arse off to get here. I also struggled and know what that is like too. I don't want anyone to struggle. I work in the nonprofit world so I know about struggle. Not only does my organization serve a lot of the families in question (both those that are genuinely struggling despite efforts and those gaming the system) but I also know struggle on a personal basis. I could be making $20k, $30k, maybe as much as $50k more per year if I chose to go into the for profit world. But I like what I do and the flexibility it provides because I can be as involved with my kids as I want to. But the point remains, I know struggle.

With you continuously showing your massive hard on for Fox News, I'm starting to think that if you're a chick like your screen name would suggest, you're one of those that might be having troubles deciding which bathroom to use in NC.
