OOTB Carolina Basketball Discussion Thread

Seriously though, great win. Could have easily folded after a rough start, but showed a lot of resilience to pull it out. And it wasn't just one guy, there were critical hustle plays and clutch shots by several different Heels.

AJ on premium pointed out that having guys like Berry, Theo, Maye and KW really provide a toughness that really helps us to grind out games that we would lose even 2-3 years ago. It sets a great example for the freshmen as well.

Not pretty, but it never was going to be against Rick Barnes. It was a signature win against a quality opponent that we needed. I’m very pleased with how this years team is progressing.

And props to Roy, he coached his butt off.

Going to check stats/stuff. Odds that refs are to blame for it even being close?
My observation from the first was they allowed a ton of hand checking and physical play. When UNC guards pushed the UT hands away, UT flopped pretty badly and got 4 calls. We only shot 1 FT in the first half and it was toward the end I believe.

However, that was cleaned up and I would say UNC got the benefit in the 2nd half by a small margin.

There was that one unique flop late in the game, where the UT guy did a spin move and flung himself to the floor, but Luke didn't really touch him. It all happened so quickly that he refs assumed it must be a foul.

I'm sure the Rat took note of this creativity and we'll be seeing this from the dookies from now on as well.

I saw that, too. He turned and tripped over Luke's foot, which was stationary, then threw himself to the ground. Overall I thought the officiating was pretty balanced. Really wish officials would clean up the constant hand-checking, bumps, and slaps employed by coaches like Rick Barnes and Ratface but we know that'll never happen.

Saw that too. Looked like he stepped right on top of Luke's foot.

Yeah, that was pretty absurd. I was going to say something about it, but I just left it alone.
Yeah there's no sense. That jumbo shrimp guy won the thread though. You want to see some overreactions go to the Duke board Wednesday if Duke doesn't go up 20 in the first 5 minutes. Our fans have lost their minds over that BC loss, I think some of them drank the UK 40-0 kool aid which is absurd.

I'm sure K put him up to it. He had one of those grandkids or trainer boys text him or something I'm sure.

Seriously, really have little idea what Baker is talking about. Felton was pretty terrible most of the game and Roy let him 'do his thing' all he wanted. His thing was just not playing very well last night. I'm sure Duke fans will be as hard on him as they were on Dexter Strickland for making similar comments about Kyrie.

Skipper stepping down as ESPN president. Moo fans will be upset that their UNC-ESPN conspiracy will have lost an important connection.

This is great. But don’t forget about the UK loons. They’re every bit as irrational as moo fans. This will really take the wind out of their sails. I suspect they’re already saying “he stuck around long enough to see to it that his precious Tar Heels weren’t damaged first” and other nonsensical shit.

You're probably right. My guess is there will be a 10 page thread at pack pride explaining that theory in detail within the hour.

Pretty sure he's still in high school.
He is and that Radar thread about him is disgusting and a disgrace. The dude is a KID, literally, and can say whatever the heck he wants on his own twitter account. That thread is a joke but I expect nothing less from Radar.

As for the officiating, I thought it was fine. If anything, we got the better whistle.

I don't remember that, what could Strickland have possibly said about Irving in the few games he played?
