OOTB Carolina Basketball Discussion Thread

I went into this was In with my mind made up that no matter the outcome, I would accept it. But my God we have looked horrible. It's almost like if we don't have our way playing how we want, we have no plan B. Roy can easily be blamed for that mentality. I am also disappointed in our senior leadership. Berry and pinson don't seem to have fire.
We also heard in the broadcast that Roy stated they started 0-2 and still made it to the final four with those teams. Roy, unless you pull some coaching manic out your behind, or figure out a loophole to bring in a big man for the season, then close acc games will be the norm.
 
This game just doesn't concern me. The FSU loss sucked because we could have and probably should have won. Great UNC teams look terrible at UVA. Not sure why anyone one thought this team would look good. I mean, it sucks but not concerning long term. Losing to teams they should beat will be the concerning thing (if that happens frequently).

Tony Bradley leaving hurt us. We have a step down version of Jackson on our team. He just hasn't shown it much. But maye, berry, and pinson have been there. Highly ranked recruits are nice. But our core minus the low post has enough experience to "look" better than what they do. Maybe berry needs to spend more time watching tape of his games rather than getting up early to dribble 2 balls with 2 hands

Talent wins. Plain and simple. We don’t have enough of it.

I'm thinking We will finish about 10-8 in conference, 21-10 overall. We will get a much lower seed than usual and hopefully not lose in the first round, so we keep Roy's steak alive. With a favorable matchup and some timely shooting we might make the sweet 16... might. But that's about our ceiling, or roof, or whatever.

And while that kinda sucks, I'm not gonna be too bothered by it this year. We just came off back to back natty's and we did bring home the belt!

Well, the second weekend of the dance was my hope for this team and I still think they can certainly do that. Probably should do that depending on seed.

Pinson has been where? On the side of a milk carton is where he belongs. I'm extremely disappointed in his play so far. It looks like he doesn't even care half the time.

Agreed. His play is probably the most disappointing (and infuriating) thing about this year's team. He's just not very good. He also played horrendous defense today.

I do like cory's take on this game, though. I think it's a mature take (but I also think we're just not very good right now). We will know soon, as ACC play continues. Beyond that, I have nothing good to say about today's game.

I thought it was funny how Bob Wiscuisen and Allison Williams (PxP guy and sideline reporter girl today) were talking about the man bun like it's some obscure hairstyle that no one wears. You can go to any city's downtown right now and see 10 assholes within 30 minutes who have a man bun.

Lol. Nashville, which I love to visit, has a ton.

As for Guy, Kenny did an outstanding job on him. Everyone else not so much on the shooters they were responsible for.

Kenny is beyond awesome on D. He might be the best defender that Roy has had at UNC. I think he deserves to win the defensive POY, but those usually go to big men.

Duke vs NC State... Who would you guys prefer wins this game? And a meteor hitting the arena isn't a suitable answer.

He is outstanding. I'm a huge fan of his. I think he has the potential to be really, really good on offense as well.

Oh, you mean Theo's defensive style of falling down to leave your man wide open to shoot a jumper isn't good defensive fundamentals??
 
I only watched the first half and read about the game. But some of y’all are being ridiculous. “I just want to make the tournament”? Seriously? UVa is the best defensive team in the country...especially at their place. I’ll be concerned if we lose to BC at home in our next game. We’ll go on a little 4-5 game win streak. Calm down everybody.

Lost 2 games in a row... Both on the road against ranked competition!!! Not exactly earth-shattering!!!!
