Great crowd tonight.

A bloody battle but we persevered
The Legend of Luke grows.

Today was my birthday, but I swear I aged 10 years reading through these comments.

Still, wicked awesome to have a Tar Heel win on your birthday!
Happy Birthday. You're my boy, Blue!

Is it time to release the avatars again??
Famous characters with masks: Bane, Hannibal Lechter, Michael Meyers....

Sorry for the multi-quotes but I'm very busy.

Ok... re-watching the game. Who was the too-cool-for-school geezer right behind our bench in:

1) sunglasses
2) a red hoodie

??

Assuming he isn't blind, I don't know which of the above list is worse, tbh. Roy should've had him tossed.

Update on red hoodie man... err, it might be a woman. Can't tell. Anyway, it took its red hoodie off halfway through the first half, only to reveal....... a green t-shirt. Way to dress for the occasion, bud

The last like 9 minutes of the first half were ugly. We should've buried Clemson by halftime. We scored, I think, 9 points in the final 7:30.

Also crazy regarding Theo: this season is his best overall FG percentage in his career despite it being easily his worst season from beyond the arc. Shooting 53% on 2's, 13% from deep (which sinks his overall FG% to 43%, still the best mark of his career). He's only shot over 40% in one other season: 2016, which was his best 3 pt shooting season (still only 29%, but a marked improvement on 13%)

I've got no problem with Theo shooting threes as long as he's shooting them in practice.
Practice? We talking bout practice?

Crazy thing is if you watch him during warm ups, he makes a pretty high percentage. I know that's warm ups and he doesn't have a defender in his face, but I've never seen the disparity of a guy in warm ups to the actual game like him.

He has no confidence whatsoever in the three. Hell he may have less confidence in it than we do.

Thoughts on Berry’s recent struggles on defense? A lot of people seem to be making comments about his lack of defense or effort. I posted the following response and made it a thread on 4 Corners

“I can’t believe you think Bertry’s effort is lacking. As a UNC PG, he’s already asked to do so much more than anyone else on th court. Add in the fact he’s playing more minutes than ever, and it takes its toll.

Lastly, and this is my guess, Berry KNOWS he is the one player we can’t afford to have in foul trouble. He simply can’t be as aggressive as he wants because there’s no one behind him. We aren’t a tourney team without Berry.

Berry has a pretty solid resume to suggest he knows how to play defense and cares as much, if not more, than anyone on this team.

@andrew jones I’d be curious to hear your thoughts.”

I have zero qualms about UNC's defensive effort this season or last season (other than the obvious collapsing too much and leaving dudes open for 3s).

The past couple seasons have been some of the best defenses we've ever had under Roy. I can't quantify that with stats, but it sure looks like it. Maybe even the past three years.

If I had to nitpick anyone's effort, it would be Theo's on loose balls on the defensive end. He moves like he's stuck in quick sand and he loses his footing way too often.

To expand on this and to be perfectly frank, Theo is uhh, I'll say my least favorite player in the starting 5. I love that he's one of the seniors and that he's a really good teammate and locker room guy from all accounts, but I swear that dude has to maintain a 1:1, or at best, 2:1, ration of doing something good and then doing something bad.

Last night he was full Theo. He'd play great help defense and get a block and get the rebound........ and then he'd dribble it out of control up the court and settle for a jumper in no-man's land or misfire a pass to a teammate for a turnover lol. And I'm not even gonna mention his 3-point "attempts." I LOL'd last night when Dan Bonner was like "uh... I think maybe he should stop shooting those."

Anyone that questions Berry's effort either needs to reconsider their thinking. I have covered a ton of players in my 22 years of doing this professionally, and Joel is in a small group of players whose want and effort I've never once questioned. He's a very good defender who gets beaten sometimes, that happens. He also isn't going to take too any risks because as some have noted, he cannot get into foul trouble. In no way can this team withstand not having him on the floor because of foul or injury. They do not have another point guard.
