I was surprised that SJ had lost 11 games in a row. Maybe Mullin isn't that good of a coach, I dunno.

I don't either. They're just not any good anymore. They're like La Salle and all those other programs that used to be good way back in yesteryear. Quick Wikipedia search says St. John's has:

- Only made the NCAAT four times since 2000
- Hasn't made a Sweet 16 since 1999
- Has 0 national titles (claims a 1911 Helms), and their best finish is one NCAAT runner-up in 1952.
- Two final Fours, the aforementioned 1952 and also 1985.

Anyone know if St. John's is a good school? Seems wild they can't find 6-8 playground NYC ballers to field a decent squad.

I think I got the idea that they were some kind of legacy when I watched that 30 for 30 about The Big East. I kinda remember when the Big East was sort of the scourge of NCAA BB. Back in the early-mid 80's. Back when Mullin played for them! They were a colroful bunch. Back when Pitino was coaching Providence. Georgetown vs. Syracuse was the rivalry.
