OOTB Carolina Basketball Discussion Thread

freakin sports networks all talking about zion and his decision

I get that Zion is ratings boost, gonna be the #1 pick, and probably gonna be NPOY (if he doesn't sit out the remainder of the year) - but c'mon.

They're determined to talk about him whether he plays or not. There were a lot of other notable takeaways and talking points from that game that they just don't give a crap about.

Even one of those good morning america network shows this morning showed the injury; and those shows rarely ever talk about sports (except for Super Bowl, Olympics, etc). Their headline was "Blowout", and I foolishly thought they were going to talk about Carolina blowing out dook, but of course the reference was to z's shoe blowing out. Even worse, when the segment ended, one of the show's hosts said something like "well, it's pretty easy to beat dook without zion". What a frickin' joke! I guess the other 3 lottery picks on dook don't count, eh?

I'd be willing to bet straight cash, homey - that none of the people who made these comments could name two other players on Dook's or Heels current roster. Idiot know-nothing bandwagon mofos

On david glenn he said zion had already been asked what he would do in this scenario and he said he wouls not shut it down out of his commitment to his teammates. Kudos. But i wouldnt blame him if he did one bit and that includes if he played here.

Time to focus on the Seminoles. They're going to be a very tough opponent. I hope the kids and coaches prepare as well for that game as they did for the dookies. UNC has had some bad luck against FSU.

last night showed how important Luke and cam are to this team. We can beat anyone in the country if they have big nights

I keep remembering SJung's comment way back in the season... this team goes as Luke Maye goes. I'm fine with that. I've got no choice, really! lol

I guess, if we had to put our faith and outcome in a player, Luke Maye has earned our respect and has definitely delivered in his career. He'll be forever remembered!

Think of the great moments Luke has delivered to the Heels program:
- the UK shot to get us to Final Four and on to another natty

- some huge specific single game and career accomplishments, putting him on some very short lists of personal feats and accomplishments (like the 30-15 at Dook, number of 30 - 10 games, spot on all-time rebounding list), in the company of a lot of other, higher recruited, more physical gifts players

- the clutch shot against Miami to get us to OT to win a game we prolly deserved to lose....

and the season is not over! I think he is taken for granted quite a bit. If he plays with a proper mindset, and doesn't try to do too much, or rush things too much, take off dribbling etc.... he can be a key part in another deep run. I hope he gets his jersey up in the rafters somehow. It'd be a good example of what guys can do if they totally dedicate themselves to relentless hard work.

In reading Lucas article today, he is a top notch humble, caring, great teammate and great character young man, too.

The Kenny and Shea quotes really stuck with me. Kenny saying he won't talk about the things he does well, just focus on a missed shot here or there...how different is that than 99.9% of these prima donna recruits. Shea saying how he made sure to thank him for rebounding during warm ups epitomizes how humble he is.

I didn't expect to love Luke Maye this much and so happy to be wrong.

He was 3rd team AP All America last season, and 1st team AP Preseason All America this year. He's averaging 15.1 ppg and 9.8 rpg. It would certainly be nice to see him get his jersey in the rafters. Everybody loves an underdog. Well, everybody but dook and Kentucky.

Assuming he’d be our first guy recruited as a walk on to be in the rafters?

The handshake thread. I don't think he has the balls to respond with names though.

I think the moron has us all on ignore and then wonders why none of us are posting.

Now that a bunch of you guys are posting, I think one of the other idiots might try to jump in and attack us. We just gave duke a beat down at their place and they want to start with this true fan crap already. GTFOH with that crap.
