AND... they had the un-****ING-mitigated gall to select barrett as the player of the year too! WTH.
I thought Cam should've got at least 2nd or 3rd team all american, with how efficient he is, but I guess I don't have all the stats in front of me to say he was better than who they picked

Hey jackass- you are slacking off. We need a report on the flood.
It is pretty bad in places out here. Ice dams and all the water. Several towns have been under water. I had part of a tree come down on my house so I had to repair my roof when I got back from Florida.

I posted this over on Raider, so forgive me in advance if it is bad form to repost it over here, but I really don't think Roy gets the long-term credit nationally, that he deserves, especially for his NCAA tourney results since he has come back to Chapel Hill:

I was listening to PTI last night, and the show hosts were talking about who to favor in this year's tourney. Wilbon is a huge Big Ten fan - he went to Northwestern I believe. But the lazy, unthinking opinion of both hosts - Wilbon and Kornheiser - is to just spout the household names as great tourney coaches: of course they name K at the top of the list, followed by Izzo, Bolein,....and I supposed if you pressed them then next they'd go to names like Calipari, Self, maybe Jay Wright.

I would love someone to go on the show and tell them that Roy:
1) has as many NCAA titles in his time at UNC, as K, Cal, Izzo, and Bolein.....combined!
2) has more final fours than Self, K, Wright, Izzo, Cal, or Blein
3) has more 1-seeds than Self, K, Wright, Izzo, Cal, Bolein, or Wright
4) I assume has the most NCAA tourney wins since he's been back, compared to any of these coaches, given the fact that Roy has never lost in round 1.
5) has done all of this with very few if any # 1 recruiting classes, and many recruiting classes outside of top 5, some outside the top 25.

And that last point (5) - isn't that the true mark of a great coach? Taking lesser talent and ranking recruits and developing them into a team who can bond and play smart, hard, together to beat the more talented and highly rated recruits (looking especially at Duke and UK).

Granted - in my comparison - other coaches should get credit for what they've accomplished as well: Self with all the conference regular seaon titles, Wright with two titles without a bunch of five-star recruits.

There is no question Cal and K have been able to land more 5-star recruits and get them to the NBA. Whatever they do to get the kids to come to Duke and UK - then move them on to the NBA in a year, they deserve credit for their recruiting prowess. I just don't see Cal or K taking many "project" kids, and developing them into much better players, getting the most out of their abilities like I think Roy does.

IMO if measuring coaches is done based on NCAA tourney success, the conversation should begin with acknowledging that Roy is indisputably, factually the best in terms of results since he returned to UNC.

Then debate who is second, third, etc. after that. Nobody's tourney results hold up to Roy's since he's been back to UNC. Nobody. It's a statistical results fact.

Our boys need a pep talk from Sgt. Barnes.
