We didn’t. As I said, he’s still an asshole but it’s not like he just hit the dude out of nowhere.
The coach he hit was not the one that stopped Howard.. so it was out of no where.
So evidently mich starters were pressing wisc reserves with the game out of reach and less than a minute left and caused a couple turnovers. The wisc coach called a timeout to do some coaching. Howard took offense and evidently there was jawing back and forth between the benches. When the game ended Howard tried to ignore the wisc coach in hand shake line but he grabbed Howard to explain his side of the time out call. Howard got angry, told him not to touch him and they started arguing, benches cleared and a wisc assistant pushed a mich player. Howard saw that and slapped the assistant. Bad look for him

Bad take. You think Gard was rubbing it in? Or escalating? I bet anything Gard was just explaining the timeout call / diffusing. Zero excuse for Juwan being a hothead little bitch. What other coach would handle it this way? Remember this is not new. Big strike two for him after the Maryland / turgeon thing last year.

It's funny how "experts" are suggesting that teams should cease the handshake at the end of games. Yeah... good idea. Sacrifice sportsmanship because players, and coaches, can't keep their composure and be good sports when they lose.
Avoiding the problem instead of finding the solution is the new American way 🙄
Honestly, I've always thought they were kinda dumb. Especially since they don't do it at a college level in other sports. You can go find someone if you want to talk, but football teams don't line up at mid field to say good game. Once you get out of grade school it doesn't make sense.

Pretty close to what happened. You left out as Howard was approaching the Wisky coach Howard said "I will remember that shit" That is why the Wisky coach stopped Howard to explain things.
1- Michigan was pressing.
2- Wisky called t.o. up 15 because of press.
3- Howard mouthed off then hit a different coach.
Funny thing..on February 10th Michigan was leading Purdue 82-56 with 1:45 left and Michigan called a timeout.
it might show some misguided sportsmanship to call off the dogs, but a coach of all people should understand that as a coach, the opportunity to coach comes first. Besides, if Howard thought the game was decided, why were his guys pressing? Seems like they named a street after Howard...One Way.
I see people on social media attempting to make the Wisky coach at fault for this. Lol. This is 100% on Howard.
I think my above video shows what started it. Howard mouthed off when approaching the Wisky coach then the Wisky coach wanted to talk about it. NOTHING would have happened if Howard kept his yapper shut and just gave a dead fish handshake and kept walking.

I'm ok with the punishment. If I were a parent of recruits, I'd think long and hard before I sent my child to be coached by him.

They are celebrating that shit on THR. I don't get it winning 20 games should be expected by Carolina fans. They are embracing average, I'm not willing to do that!
I think we're going a little far with this whole "we're Carolina, we should expect success". I get it. We shouldn't be content with lackluster seasons. But again, we've won 20 games and have the potential to win 4-10 more. The competition in the ACC has been dogshit but we can only beat who we play. Winning 20+ games for a first year head coach is something to celebrate IMO.

I think a lot of Hubert and hope that he develops into a great coach. But his almost nonexistent use of his bench is puzzling to say the least. He obviously has little to no confidence in the freshmen to contribute in a meaningful way. I’m afraid it’s going to cost him after the season by way of multiple transfers. I hope I’m wrong.

Not playing Kerwin against a team that sits in a zone is puzzling. Not playing Styles against a zone that is so prone to allowing offensive rebounds is also questionable.
Kerwin is going to transfer. I'd also put Dunn at 50/50.
It's just poor game management, there are times to sneak in a minute here and there to get some rest. When we play a deeper team it will be a huge factor. I hope this is a matter where he doesn't trust some of the other player, and not just a lack of awareness. I am confident that transfers are coming, and that will be a bad look for future recuits.
At this point it's to late for depth to be used he should have been developing this from the first game.
I agree. But maybe that’s Hubert’s plan. We need some spots in the remote chance Bacot and/or Love decided to return. I hate transfers but this is a new day in college sports. If Dunn and Walton leave, here’s to hoping Ant stays and Trimble is the truth.
I agree to a point...but at some point you've got to give your starters a breather before TV timeouts. Sit some guys with 9 minutes left in the half and bring them back after the under 8, you sneak in about 5-7 minutes of real time rest. Playing 6 when the games get more competitive and more taxing as they do this month is a recipe for disaster. It's not like Brady Manek is some marathon runner either...
In terms of transfers, Hubert has to know Kerwin is likely gone and maybe he doesn't care. I think essentially giving up on Dunn this year, as poor as he's looked, could bite us in the ass in a few years because I think he's good. Styles is a NC kid and won't transfer, I'm sure Hubert can sell him on big minutes next year with Leaky/Manek gone.
So yeah, if Hubert is ok losing Kerwin/Dunn then sure, don't play them real minutes if you think it makes us worse. But at some point you've gotta find periods in the game to rest the starters in these big games.
I agree with all of that. I've found Hubert's refusal to play the bench incredibly odd, especially after sitting next to Roy for a decade.
I want Leaky back. I want Ant back. I certainly want Bacot back but that may be asking too much. And I think there's a very remote chance Caleb comes back. With who we have coming in, we'd have to have some guys transfer. So in that scenario, I'd like to see Walton, Dunn, Garcia and McKoy move on. And of course Brady has to go. Do the numbers work that way? Honestly, we'd still need another big, IMO.
