What are you talking about? Other than Leaky, Nance and possible transfers, most of this team could be back next year. And they need all the postseason experience and extra practice they can get. Not to mention a serving of humble pie wouldn't hurt. An NIT run could provide both.
I don't understand the people who think we're somehow above participating in the NIT when we clearly showed all year that's where this team belongs.
Going to be a long off season for HD. I know love takes a beating. I really think HD's style he wants is opposite of Loves. Roy recruited for speed. Absolutely no one knows what HD is doing. I think he is meshing a little bit of everything he has learned in his playing/assistant coaching years and trying to make it translate to game play. The variation between dean and Roy was lateral. One was wise in x&o and the other outscored via added possessions with enough D to create that speed. These kids were recruited for the latter style. From my very untrained eye, we look like a rec league team with a coach fit for that. HD seemed unable to get them to gel at all this year.
If I was a NIL contributer, I would have pulled the plug on Love after the 1st half of the season. Who really knows what's in their heads. I hope they are done for the year. The embarrassment has gone on way to long already. Can you imagine crapping out in the 1st game of the NIT?

I agree we should accept a bid, but I don't see it helping much. The reason being most of this team will be back, like you said. Unless Hubert changes up his style in the NIT, it will be more of the same this year and next year.
This team is finished in more ways than one. I do not believe it is beneficial for them to play any more together. As much as I have loved Mando, I'm even ready for him to go too. RJ can return but only if we can find a PG to run the show whether that be a reclass from Cadeau or in the portal. I'd side with the portal because I'd hate for Cadeau's one year to be with a team that has no shot at being anything. Coaching staff needs a serious upgrade as well. Next year looks bleak but I'll suffer through it if it means we are on the road to recovery in 2024.
Do we actually want anyone back next year? I'm fine with Bacot and RJ I guess, but I think we can only get better if Love leaves. He seems like a nice kid, but Hubert doesn't want to coach him. I think he would probably be better off going somewhere else.
Staff won't change until UNC checks it's ego and realizes good coaches can be found outside of the "family."

Mando is definitely a nice kid. But I'm ready for him to go. The program has become stagnate and while I won't attribute it to him, he's been a part of it. I think it behooves all parties for him to leave.
That's not a shitty look, it's just his face. I'm not sure how someone can change how they naturally look.

I'm thinking Bacot, Davis, Dunn, Trimble, Johnson, Washington, maybe Nickel, all come back. Love left after last season and Styles will leave I think.

I don't want to use the portal to the extent that these other guys get no burn. One of the reasons for this year being bad is Hubert not developing players. If those guys continue to sit on the bench then we'll have multiple transfers. At some point he has to give people some minutes. All his good recruiting is worthless if they are gone after one year of not playing.
I won't cry but I'd like to see both get some minutes. Styles is a freak athlete and I think with some confidence Nickel could be that dude.
There is no one with a really high ceiling on our roster at this point. We agonize about player development but the guys currently on the roster can only be developed so much. There are no stars on the roster. If Nickel or Styles is ever starting for us, that team won't be very good.
Plus, we have to at least have a bench for when late in the season Hubert wants to start using a semblance of a substitution pattern.

It's official, we didn't make it in. Now we have to wait and see if we think we're too good for the NIT.
Hubert Davis and his staff, and the program, have lost more of my respect. I just don't think it's a good look.

If they were offered an nit bid and declined it that's going to be really messed up as far as I'm concerned. I realized Armando is hurt. But, they need the practice with the younger guys. Just looks like they're giving up. It's just not a good look at all.

i heard the locker room was not good at all over the last 2 weeks or so. i was thinking they would all come back but now i'm doubting that. i dont have any good inside intel at this point.

I was very surprised. I'll reserve judgement till some reasoning is given. But honestly, who can blame them for quiting? They checked out long before the season ever began. Never really looked good, minus last year's run. I've tried to watch 1 game since before they played State the 2nd time. It's a struggle to watch them. It's not any one thing, basically just all of it. If this is HD's fault, he needs to be shown the door. If it's "Roy's" players, then they need to be shown the door. Next year, his seat will be smoking if it's even close to as bad as it is now. If recruits start withdrawing, we need a top to bottom reset
