i was present for bloody sunday when one seeded unc and two seeded dook lost in the first rd in the same gym to penn and st johns. Unc played first. A man and his 8ish yr old son were in front of us. They were dook fans. This was my first exposure to an abc'er roooting against unc. It really bothered me cause i planned on rooting for dook next game. I just couldnt understand someone in our conf and state rooting against us. To make things worse the boy kept turning around and taunting us as it became apparent we were choking it away as so many dean smith teams did at that time. So we lose but we stick around for the dook game. Well they lose. As the geme ends the kids dad is busy talking and i see the kid is crying. I thump his ear and as he turns clutching his ear with tears running down his face i lean over and whisper "thats what u get for rooting against unc u little shyt!" Thus began my hatred for dook.
Side note Penn made it to the final four before losing to mich state. What really sucks is that we beat mich st earlier that year.

Regardless of how he plays against us, this season has made it clear that Moo can't simply be fixed by an infusion of talent. They should be far, far better than they are and it certainly seems like Gottfried is the problem.

their year is wednesday...i hope it's a double digit slaying.
It sucks not being able to see a game, but this break came at a good time for us with Hicks having an injury. Gives him more time to recover without (hopefully) missing another game.
This seems to be a foregone conclusion. I don't think a win over UNC would stay his execution at this point.

If Kenny can't go who do you guys think will start? I'm thinking that Roy might still want to ease Theo back in, so Nate would get the start.
If it were anyone other than State, I'd say Nate starts. Since Roy actually tries to win games against State, I think Theo starts.
You have to wonder how much of a distraction it has been to hear all the rumors about Gott. I'd like to blow their doors off at the start of the game, silence the crowd, then hit cruise control until the final horn.
According to ESPN that is true. If he turns them down that would be funny as hell.
I'm in agreement . . add in the unknown as to how the State players react to the news/rumors of Gott's possible exit and I have some concerns.
