Sciencey Stuff

So this is cool

I already knew about this underwater coral structure thats shaped like a bowl at top and this certain kind of fish lives there. the sea turtles actually line up and wait their turn to rest in the bowl and have the fish clean them of parasites and barnacles and stuff. Somehow the word gets out lol.
And now this.
This lady diver in the Bahamas started noticing sharks with fish hooks in their mouths and fish line usually trailing behind. So she started helping by pulling the hooks out. She’s never been bitten and now sharks with hooks are actually congregating where she does this and swim right up to her seeking help it seems.

That is amazing. Someone's got to have video of it you'd think. Also, she must have balls the size of watermelons to do that in the first place.

Mumbai India has 20 million people and is home to over 50 leopards making it the most leopard dense place on the planet. They roam the backstreets at night in plain sight and eat over a 1000 dogs a year.

In lopburi Thailand, protected by religious stupidity, a 700 strong macaque gang lives on the grounds of a temple downtown. They roam the city 24/7 knowing how to negotiate crosswalks and use the streetlights. They eat so much trash and “offerings” that the older ones inevitably become overweight and die of cancer and heart disease.

So Birx just said the public has trust with public authorities and that:

1. Covid shots were not designed to prevent infection.
2. Should not have been given to young people.
3. Should have only been given to the most vulnerable, not the population at large.

She basically laments that's because they lied the public doesn't trust them.

No remorse it seems for lying in itself, for destroying people's lives, their businesses, and in many cases, their health and causing a needless uproar.

i was under the assumption the entire time it was to lessen the impact of the virus…that goes for everyone, more importantly the most vulnerable.

you can still get the flu even if you get the flu shot…the shingles vaccine isn’t even 90% effective.

I am under the impression that it has been up to us individually whether to get a flu shot in order to 'lessen the impact' on ourselves, again individually. And as you indicate, the flu remains a contagion, shot or no shot. But I was also under the impression that the main argument from the pro-vaccine folks was that my lessening my own impact from Covid more importantly served to prevent you from having an impact of your own to deal with at all...in other words, if we all got the shots, we would stop the spread. So, should we or should we not demand we all get flu shots, and should we or should we not have all gotten the Covid vaccine?

Before you answer, keep in mind that the overall effect of the Covid virus has been debunked as being almost a death sentence.

I kept trying to get a handle on whether casual exposure to the bug would facilitate a suitable enough immune response to serve as a sort of self-vaccination, but in that environment of nonsense, it was impossible to get any sensible sort of answer. As a matter of fact, I still haven't gotten a good answer.

As a matter of fact, I still haven't gotten a good answer.
And you never, ever, will. Natural immunity discussion/study was always suppressed. That makes no one any money and gives no one any additional control or authority over the citizenry. Not to paint with too broad a brush because there are a majority of people and even actual officials involved that truly had/have most of our interests as their priority. The problem remains who was advising them and giving them guidance and what their motivations were.

I will always go back to the idea that big pharm was given total and complete immunity over the shot and the decision makers in the gov did everything they could to force everyone to take the jab on the dime of the taxpayer. If it was safe, no need for liability protection whatsoever. If it worked as they claimed, no need to require it because those who refused would suffer the consequences and those who got it would be perfectly fine. That's called freedom to choose which is how it's supposed to work here. But, they were dishonest and a goodly portion of people ended up with real fat bank accounts.

ChatGPT:

I cannot verify the accuracy of his statements. However, it's important to note that Bosi, a former Australian Army Special Forces lieutenant colonel, is known for promoting conspiracy theories and misinformation, particularly regarding COVID-19.

Given this background, it's advisable to approach his claims with caution and seek verification from reputable sources.

TLDR version: Bosi has NOTHING to do with the study or someone else's appearance on Rogan, he simply posted on X what a guest said about a 3rd party's study.

On the politics thread, you've consistently been a lemming for anything dnc/progressive. "Given this background," I'm going out on a limb and guessing that anything remotely related to Joe Rogan is automatically a trigger for you to assert a claim of "conspiracy theories and misinformation, particularly regarding COVID-19." More importantly, none of that even matters to the silliness and lack of veracity related to your comment and it probably just demonstrates a huge flaw in how you asked AI your question.

The way it works on X is that one can post their own stuff and/or they can link other people's stuff. In regards to the post at issue, it appears to me that Bosi (whom you apparently have a problem with) linked someone else's appearance on Rogan and that individual is discussing a third person's scientific study. Maybe it's Bosi, maybe it's not, but the guy in the video doesn't look to me like the guy in the pic for Bosi. As a person's appearance can change over time, I even searched the JRE to see if Bosi was a guest and could not find him ever appearing on the show. Perhaps you'll have better luck. Here's a link: https://jrelibrary.com/episode-list/

So, as best I can tell, all Bosi did (even if you think he's a complete moron who wears tinfoil hats) is post about someone else's appearance on JRE where that someone references a completely different third party's study. Thus, your opinion, wiki's, or ChatGPT's regarding Bosi is 1000% irrelevant and completely unrelated to the underlying discussion in his post. In other words and to sum it up, don't let your politics be your only concern and let it so control you that it's all that you can see. Try to look at what is actually being said by those who are actually saying it. Don't shoot the messenger. Rather, listen to the message.

Here's a link to an article on the referenced study that you'll likely find "reputable" because it's in Scientific America.

https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/birth-control-pills-affect-womens-taste/

And here's a link to the actual study itself at The Royal Society (research them all you want and let us know if Bosi directs them or something, lol).

https://royalsocietypublishing.org/doi/epdf/10.1098/rspb.1995.0087

As far as I can tell, your improper AI "research" over Bosi is unwarranted as his name appears nowhere. Also, if you care to read further, there is a ton of actual research out there that shows that the introduction of hormones has all kinds of impact on the ability to smell and how we perceive things. It's very interesting stuff, regardless of whether Bosi or anyone else posts on X about it.

All that being said, how do you like ChatGPT? Does it always use wiki as it's primary unreputable source? It's been highly recommended to me by a couple of people.

Don't remember me voicing an opinion about him.
