He is... for everything other than basketball. I guess we should consider ourselves lucky he doesn't poast on Blitz - I wonder if he's the same way on Auburn's football board.
I can't see everything he posts over there because it's premium content, but the little bit I can see indicates that it may actually be worse. He has his own thread over there (Is Gary7 ok is the title) and judging by the part of his response I can see, it's not a thread to praise him.

I don't care that much about Bagley. He is good but their success is still dependent on Duval and how well they shoot. They should do very well in those areas though of course. It should shut up any Duke fans from talking about our academic stuff considering they have two guys on their team who would have issues getting into my Alma mater Austin Peay. It won't though.

I just saw that K is letting Bagley wear #35 which is retired at Duke (Danny Ferry last wore it). That seems crazy to me, letting a one and done wear a retired number, and it's the number of a player K coached no less. I would be pissed if Roy let a kid wear Michael Jordan's number or any of the other retired jerseys. This speaks volumes as to what K will do to land players he thinks will help him win and how he only values those that are currently of use to him.
Danny Ferry agreed to it or it wouldn't be happening. Justise Winslow tried to do the same thing with 33 and Grant Hill told him no.
Danny Ferry is a racist and obvs gets no claim to that number anymore. Duh.
Ferry may have agreed to it, but if I was K I would have told the kid straight up to pick a different number and not even brought Ferry into it.
If that was the case, Duke would have to unretire practically every jersey up there.
I would be surprised if wearing a number had any impact on his choice. I do think that asking for the number kind of shows a lack of respect for Ferry and duke basketball history, but if Ferry is ok with it then I don't think it's a big issue.
I'm pretty sure the only reason he chose Duke is because he grew up idolizing Danny Ferry.
Doesn't he have some kind of family connection to the area as well? Seems like I read that in an article somewhere.
I'm not sure it made an impact on the kid's choice either, but I agree it shows a lack of respect for the guys that came before, and I think K was complicit in that and it shows his own lack of respect for that history. I have never really thought of K as a man who was loyal to his guys, so I'll admit my own biases there, but I think he should have told Bagley, "Sorry, that number is retired, you have to pick another number." And I'm probably making a bigger issue than it needs to be made into, so I apologize for that, but to me, the number is either retired or it's not, and since it was a player that K coached, he should have not even brought it to Ferry and told the kid to pick a different number and if he had a good enough career that number could be retired one day.
I agree with most of that, but in the end if he got permission from him to wear it then I don't think it should be an issue.
I'm no K fan either, but this is a non issue for me. If Ferry is okay with it, whatever. I'm just pissed we have to deal with Bagley twice now. This is just a pit stop on his way to the NBA, so at least it's just for a year.
It's a forgone conclusion we were going to lose to them anyway, so it doesn't really matter. I'll take all of our accomplishments over theirs, but head-to-head recently? F that.
Head to head is a goddamn nightmare. Only 5 wins this decade against them.
Yeah as a Duke fan it has been fun since 2010, but good lord did it suck for a long time before that. Hansbrough gets a lot of the credit but Lawson straight up killed Duke.
That was also back when Roy could get basically anyone he wanted on the recruiting trail. Not so much now.
yeah roles seem to have reversed in that regard. It's cyclical, ,i'm sure it will swing back the other way soon... i mean you guys did just win a title.
