OOTB Carolina Basketball Discussion Thread

Has anyone confirmed that we indeed are still offering him?
Would be funny if he committed tonight and you guys were like...

Well, let's look at the positives:

1.) We're finally (potentially) about to land a five star recruit.
2.) Our fanbase is so accepting of the four and three stars now.
3.) If #1 doesn't happen, we're okay with it.

Felton, Bradley, Pinson, Jackson, Hicks weren't 5 star recruits?

Guys, I think we will be okay. Little hasn't been directly implicated in anything.
The AAU coach is on tape saying Little is the one that set the price. I'd say that's being directly implicated. Even if the coach was lying do you really want to take that chance?

Yeah that looks pretty bad I gotta admit.

So either the coaches on the phone were lying or the family has enough plausible deniability. Either way, why would Roy still pursue it? He must know something we don't.
Not sure why he would. He's not going to know anything about the FBI investigation beyond what is available to the general public. Maybe he will surprise everyone and commit to duke. Then become ineligible halfway through the season and cause duke to have to forfeit games. That would be nice.

Considering Duke already has Cameron Reddish and are probably favorites for RJ Barrett I think the likelihood of that happening is pretty minimal lol.

You know how this stuff works. Generally before the announcement is made, people know where a player is going.

Ok, lets see if you know this one. Name the poster who said there was no way UNC would win the championship last year and picked duke to win it all in the bracket challenge.
Not my best prediction. Doesn't mean I hate UNC basketball. I watched every conference game and ACCT game and NCAAT game.

This. I like this.

The ignorance on display in this thread is hilarious. Each poast is dumber than the one before it.

I know y'all know this, but to say it again.................so long as the one-year-required rule is in place, NBA-bound players will never NOT want to go to college, and it has nothing to do with school. It's all about brands and TV exposure. How many European club games and D-League games combined did you watch last season? Now, how many college basketball games did you watch last season? Yeah, exactly.

John Doe isn't going to build his brand by playing for Olympiakos or the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. He builds his brand by going to UNC, Kentucky, Indiana, Texas, Arizona, UCLA, or Kansas, and appearing on national television 30 times in his college career.

And even with all that aside, dudes don't want to go to Europe. Go to the trouble of learning a new language and leaving your family at a young age, just for a year of ball? No one would blame someone for saying no to that.... especially if offered by undesirable countries like Lithuania. What's a brother going to do in Greece for a year?

If you REALLY want to make it so guys actually consider going to Europe or the D-League, it would require drastic measure that Raidarians won't like: drastically cut down the number of nationally televised college basketball games. Like, back to 1970s levels. Only then, will players start to reconsider going college for the one year. And obviously, slashing the number of TV games isn't happening.

Also LOL at that tom79 dude saying he hasn't "heard anything from the Rams Club" about people being worried about Little.

I swear, some people think the Rams Club is some secret society that meets once a month in cloaks and has clandestine meetings. It's just a donor organization. The only communication I have with the Rams Club is when I call in to pay dues or through mail correspondence when they send me some free swag and a reminder to up my contributions.

It ain't like the head of the Rams Club calls all the other members and is like "psssst, we're really worried about Little if he commits. Don't tell anyone!"

They don't call all the other members, but they certainly call the ones who give a shit ton of cash.

Right, which isn't Tom79.

I'm sure they consult the likes of Loudermilk and the biggest of the biggest donors. If those dudes wanted any coach at Carolina out, they'd be out.
