OOTB Carolina Basketball Discussion Thread

I was talking to my brother about this whole FBI investigation and he made a point that I found interesting and agreed with.

Do y'all agree that some (or all) of these college assistant coaches probably didn't even know what they were doing was aiding in a federal crime? They knew it was against NCAA rules, sure, but I'm wondering if the Louisville assistant caught on wiretaps in Vegas truly knew about federal crimes such as collusion? It's an interesting thought.

I would be very surprised to find that they knew these were federal crimes

Right, which isn't Tom79.

I'm sure they consult the likes of Loudermilk and the biggest of the biggest donors. If those dudes wanted any coach at Carolina out, they'd be out.
No donor has enough power to fire Roy and Roy would certainly tell them to f off if they said he shouldn't recruit someone.

I swear, some people think the Rams Club is some secret society that meets once a month in cloaks and has clandestine meetings.

You mean it's not like this?

Yeah, probably not. You should ask over on Radar. They seem to know about Federal **** and stuff like that.

gary-7: Honestly brother, nothing more than anyone else has or beyond what I've posted here before, i.e., that Sankey is as corrupt as a $3 bill, as is Emmert. Sankey has an agenda of using UNC as cover for protecting bama football and uk basketball --- the $EC's flag$hip$ --- and I feel confident that this thing would have been over and done with relatively painlessly without him sticking his damned nose in.

LOL. I just posted that in the other thread. That statement makes absolutely no sense.

Radarians - never ceasing to amaze.

They can sit their on their moral high horse and say that they wouldn't accept a quarter of a million dollars to steer their kid to particular school, with their kid incurring no legal trouble. Whereas if they were given the opportunity in reality they'd burn all their UNC gear and steer their kid to Duke for $10 and a Bojangles biscuit. Whatever helps them sleep at night.

They're all idiots.

Almost every single one of them. A few of them are fine though, but it's a number that I can count on my hand.

Archer is one of the most sanctimonious posters I've ever seen.

He sucks. I have him on ignore. A couple years back, on a Sunday after a football win that came down to wire (can't recall the specific game), I went back and was reading the in-game thread on TOS, just to see the swing in emotion of the poasters. Archer poasts under the same name on TOS as he does here.

It's a game thread and was a tight game, so obviously you had a bunch of people poasting stuff like "OMG we aren't going to win. I quit" and shit like that. You know, usual heat of the moment stuff they don't really mean...

And there was archer2. Going down poast by poast, quoting the poast and being like "Wow. We don't need you. You should find a new team." Shit like that. He did that to like EVERY poaster..................... WHILE THE GAME WAS GOING ON. He is the Commissioner of Fan Police.

The "comparisons" they are coming up with over there are just flat out ridiculous.

Jesus. I love how he tries to come on here once in a blue moon and dictate the rules of being a Tar Heel fan to all of us. Or threatening our resident dookie over a gif haha

Plus, he didn't even go here, I don't think. I mean I don't give af if people went there or not. Some of the biggest Tar Heel fans I know didn't go to Carolina.

But when you, as a non-alum, didn't go here and then start trying to tell alumni (who are also Rams Club donors$$$) they're "bad fans," it rings a bittttt hollow, IMO.

I always poast stuff I don't necessarily mean in game threads. That's what they're for.

I'm not sure what I find more annoying, people who try to dictate how I should "fan", or those that think that anything said on these boards matters one iota to the actual games/players.
