OOTB Carolina Basketball Discussion Thread

The minimum for NCAA eligibility is 12 credit hours (same at UNC) and if he failed 2 classes, he wouldn't have had the minimum hours to stay in good standing at UNC, and likely would not have had the minimum GPA. You can go from good standing to suspended on that combo.
Ok, that makes sense.

My only question is how do you guys know all this crap about your school? College is such a blur to me. All I know is that I got my degree and got a job, so now I don't give a shit.
Elitist UNC grads are smart enough to remember everything about their school. As a peasant, you don't have the mental capacity to remember that kind of stuff.

Well I was using a personal example. I was in good standing after my freshman year (not a great GPA, but good standing). I had a bad first semester of sophomore year following the loss of my grandmother and failed two classes out of the four I was taking. Tanked my GPA and put me behind the hours necessary per semester, so I went from good standing to suspended, no warning. I had to appeal for probation, which I did and was granted. I was able to recover and graduate with two majors, but it was a damn scary thing to think you're gonna be kicked out of school, so I remembered it.

I did know there were some, I didn't realize anyone else in the world knew there were videos of my old comedy routines
I was looking for your youtube page for the OSM and naturally assumed it was under your name so I searched for that. Those videos popped up in the search result.

@tarheel0910 where did you go? I thought you went to Carolina.
I went to Campbell. It made more sense financially for me. I received some scholarship money and they have a program that allows you to get your undergrad degree and masters in 5 years instead of the usual 6, so I saved a year of time and money.

I'm sure no one cares, but shaving off that extra year was a pain in the ass. I had to take at least 18 hours every semester except for the last.

I figured it was something like that haha. There are some student films I made at UNC that would probably show up as well

Yeah but five years in Buies Creek is like seventeen anywhere else, so did you really come out ahead?

It's actually not that bad except they kept making improvements right after I had already lost the benefit. They added cable to the dorms the year after I moved out, they opened a new basketball arena the year after I graduated and brought back the football program two years after I graduated. They've rebuilt about half the campus and added a medical school in the years since I graduated as well.

I'm also sure no one cares, but after my two uhmm... less-than-productive semesters in Athens, I had to play catch-up in a big way once I got to UNC, so that I could still graduate in four years of college. Had to take 15-16 hours a semester. But it was journalism with a minor in history. Wasn't like I had to take 15-16 hours of science or something difficult.
