OOTB Carolina Basketball Discussion Thread

Kind of torn on this. I would have preferred for them to wait until he retired in 2032. This should piss off moo fans though, so that's a good thing.

Coach is 210-30 at the Smith Center through 15 seasons. That's an average of only two home losses per year, y'all.
But I thought we didn't have a home court advantage and the crowd sucked? Guess Roy was able to overcome those challenges.

The crowd does usually suck, but I'd say we definitely have a home court advantage (almost always an advantage to not have to travel to play a game).

His home record is bolstered by the fact that the majority of our early season OOC games against crappy teams are played in the Dean Dome not on the road, but a pretty nice accomplishment nonetheless.

Glad to see the court named after him.

Never thought about that. We should do what all the other schools do and play those crappy teams on the road. If duke and uk are willing to play Elon at their place, then we should too.

Arizona: Lute & Bobbi Olson Court at the McCale Center
dook: Coach K Court at Cameron Indoor Stadium
Georgia Tech: Cremins Court at Alexander Memorial Coliseum
Kansas: Phog Allen Court at Allen Fieldhouse
Maryland: Gary Williams Court at the Comcast Center
North Carolina: Roy Williams Court at the Dean E. Smith Center
Oklahoma State: Eddie Sutton Court at Gallgher-Iba Arena

We do that. We'll play at Wofford this year in Spartanburg (and they might not want to show up; I have a feeling Roy has this one circled). We played @ Tulane in 2016, @ Northern Iowa in 2015, @ UAB in 2013, @ Long Beach State in 2012, @ UNC Asheville in 2012 and @Evansville in 2010.

Interesting info. All these narratives seem to have holes in them. Guess we should just concentrate on all the winning and not worry about it.

Just Watched my first video of Bacot. He is definitely a throwback. Good footwork down low with his back to the basket. Looks to have a nice soft touch. Looks like he has a long wing span as well. Could be that he plays Taller than 6’10”. None of his high lites showed shot blocks or any def though.

I think he's more of a positional defender (Rasheed Wallace type) than a rim protector. He has good length so I think he can develop into a decent shot blocker but right now, I wouldn't say that's a strength of his.
