I heard the buyout was huge. Kind of like the Fedora situation. They made the tournament a couple of years ago and gave him an extension. Now they have a decision to make.

In all seriousness I think UNC has a good shot Wednesday. Duke's defense has taken a step or 7 backwards since the UVA game and if they leave UNC players wide open looks from 3 the way they did State... Well we will be run out of the gym. Our best hope is sloppy passing from UNC leading to transition points and getting the ball inside to Zion, he will either score or be fouled or both.

I was digging through the stats for the last 8 games (4 wins for each team), and FG shooting was close 42% for UNC, 44.8 for Duke; however 3pt shooting was a huge disadvantage for Carolina (26% to 39%). This season, the Heels have been better from deep, so I hope that continues. And I hope that your transition defense continues to be atrocious.
I think we match up better vs dook than uva because of style of play. Gonna be a track meet. Bet both teams score 90+. Idgaf what anyone says barrett is better than zion. We dont have anyone to guard him.
I dunno how well we match-up with them, but I'm not looking forward to either game against the dookies this year. They could easily win the whole thing this year, and probably will.
Man not at this level. I thought Zion was overrated before and after he committed to Duke but he has completely proven me wrong. If anything he was underrated. He is the most efficient player in college basketball history at this point and it isn't close. Barring some catastrophic drop off he will win NPOY.

If you are saying he is one of the more dominant freshmen we've seen in history, well yes, probably he could be place in a category among elite productive freshmen. But there are so many one-n-done freshman nowadays - who is to say he is even tops in a recent group. Is he a better overall freshman than KD, Anthony Davis, Patrick Ewing, Carmello Anthony, etc? I don't think so.
And if we're talking "all college history" - his scoring alone at about 22.4 points per game ranks him about #18, behind a couple guys you've never heard of who are still playing in college - and at about half of a guy you may have heard of - named Pete Maravich.... and well behind some other guys you might have heard of named Oscar Robertson, Elvin Hayes, Larry Bird, just to name a few.
How do you argue that he is most efficient? He does have a high efficiency rating, I'm not sure how that is calculated. He is about #15-20 all time for effective FG %. He shoots 3's at under 30%. Not sure where he's supposed to thrive at the next level. I don't think he has much of a shooting touch, and it isn't at all a big man low post league.
And if you think he will get it done at the next level with just brute force, well... people named Shaq, Lebron, Patrick Ewing, just for starters had way more big man skills and impact than heavy Z will have at the next level.

Ok... His player efficiency rating is currently 43, the highest I can find is 36.93. I'm not sure how that is hilarious, ignorant, or wrong but feel free to find the stats to disprove me.
As for the rest of your ramblings, they have nothing to do with anything I posted as I was talking about at THIS level not the NBA.
All the people I mentioned- I was referring to them being better college players as proven by their overall stats, which I stated in my original post, mickbreath!

I was in the same boat. Even when at one point it looked like UNC led for him I still was curious if he'd ever be more than a dunker who was a liability outside of 12 feet.
I was very wrong there. He's got a very complete game already.
What a lot of people including myself failed to anticipate regarding zion is his competitiveness and drive. You cant blame us, he was going through the motions in hi school and aau due to noone pushing him. Hes elevated his game though in response to the comp. i anticipate he’ll be a mad man wed.
Granted, I haven't watched a ton of duke play this year. But from what I have seen, I don't see this competitive fire from him that you're referencing. To me it's just a dude a lot bigger and stronger than everyone else. I will admit that he's more of a well rounded player than I initially gave him credit for but I'm not seeing what you're talking about.
Sometimes we see what we want to see. @heelmanwilm is right, dude dives on the floor for loose balls in blowouts. He is a big time competitor that doesn't take plays off.
