I don't know about that, I think his lineups still would have prevented a win. But your overall lack of understanding of the strategy of using timeouts to stop runs is interesting.
It's not like that key 5+ minute stretch where we had a lineup of Berry, Britt, Robinson, Maye, Bradley in led to Miami climbing out to a lead that they never relinquished........

Oh wait. He set us up for failure.

Why is miami still wanting to score on those home run balls anyway? We are just gonna foul them and extend this POS game longer... ugh. Just dribble it out, you dumb shits.

I totally understand "the strategy of using timeouts." I also know, without a doubt, that Roy Williams isn't calling them.

Miami beat UNC completely and Roy NOT calling a TO when every armchair coach here thinks he should have wouldn't have changed the outcome. When you start getting paid to coach college teams, I'll consider your opinion more than the guy that has a record that very few coaches will ever have.

I'm glad to see you have Roy's back. Seriously. I love Roy. This loss in the grand scheme of things is shit, for lack of a better word. We got up what 11-2 early when Miami called a TO? We preceded to put the product of Britt Woods BRob Maye and Bradley on the floor. That's fine whatever. But then Miami went on a what 16-2 run? And we left them in. That stretch built Miami's confidence for the rest of the game IMO. Now would having Berry and JJ in the game during that stretch make a difference? Who knows. But I do believe it should be topic for discussion. BTW we agree on the timeout calling. I've grown numb and I couldn't care less if he doesn't call a TO the rest of the year.

I don't understand Roy's choice for lineups, subs, or anything else. And, it works out well because, he's getting paid to coach the team and I get to watch them. He builds the team. He knows that team better than anyone else! And, the man's record is about as good as you can ever ask for as a fan.

I never expect a timeout to be called. I'm never disappointed.

^Yep... a TO was not necessarily needed to stop their run, but it sure was needed to get that shitty line-up off the floor.
I will at least concede to that. He couldn't get the needed subs in when it was vital. But, I'm also fully aware that he is NOT going to call a timeout to do that.

They lost because Miami outplayed them, and they could not score worth a damn. It's also the most acceptable loss I can imagine. Just played Thursday night, early game Saturday, ROAD GAME, and Theo is in a boot. I think Theo's absence was the biggest factor of all.

He absolutely does. No question about that. His record is MORE than I could ever want w UNC. I really love the man. That lineup was shit though. At least for as long as they were in together. It will never be admitted but I would bet when he goes back and watches film he'd like to have some things to do over considering lineups. Shit happens. Not a big deal. I'm hoping in the long run it'll pay off w one or two of our "B" guys being needed in crunch time.

Again, we're on the same page here. Exactly on the same page.

I mentioned earlier that today's game was a recipe for disaster; and it certainly was. But we are up 11-2 with the starters, and then proceed to get our asses kicked with that crappy line-up in the game. I just wish Roy wasn't so damn stubborn and call a time-out just to get the starters back in.

I wish it along with you, and everyone else. But, it is rare that we can't get subs in when we need them. That situation today was not a typical situation. Now, you could argue that it makes for the perfect time for Roy to make an exception to his stubborn rule... but, I know he's not.

Doubt he does one. When Berry plays like this I don't think he does. I'm not messing with it regardless. Really Jackson is the only player that was somewhat solid today and he wasn't great. Not a lot to say except they were awful.
Yep we sucked in just about every facet. I can't think of one thing we did overly well.

Ok that's fair. I realize Roy's way is always right and he should never be questioned. I'm thankful we have a coach that's never been wrong on our team, I guess I just feel like 100% flawless execution from the coach would produce less head scratching losses.

It's always right to HIM, and he's the coach... you're not, nor is anyone else. And, that hyperbole whining you lowered yourself to is pretty common. Criticize him all you want, but I still feel sure he knows exactly what he's doing and I'd rather have him coaching than anyone on the board.

And, I often see the "timeout strategy" used by many other coaches, and it works sometimes, and sometimes it makes no difference. I have come to see those TO's as a panic button and "Oh, shit, we're getting our ass kicked." And, it's often against us and we usually continue to roll on them.

Everything you said is true about Fedora, but you seem to have no problem bitching about him.
