And this decade it was entirely possible. But we've lost at least 4-5 games off the top of my head we should have won but didn't because we couldn't close it out.
The majority of our tourney wins this decade were from last year. The more we lose to these chuckleheads (eh?
) and the more Roy keeps being outrecruited, the more I think the time is nearing where he needs to go. Not now, but soon.
Rivalry games mean more to fans than they do to players on any team, in almost all cases. The fans have been cheering for their team their entire life and have a lifetime of built-up hatred in the rivalry. Players just got to that school 1-3 years ago and often are from different states.

This pisses me off so much. Hello, Duke is the team we need to play all out to beat - not ****ing State who we could beat with the damn freshmen playing the whole game. I realize the tournament is all that really matters, and I'm sick of getting bent out of shape in any regular season game in any sport since they don't matter, but for ****s sake if you can get determined to beat state you should be able to for Duke too.
That said, other than his usual head scratching lineups for a few minutes there and refusal of timeouts to stop runs, this one wasn't all on Roy. Need to shoot FTs better and guard 3s better - granted, the focus on both of those really comes down to coaching.

I agree. They made a ton of threes. We missed a bunch of FTs. We got road Berry instead of home Berry. We didn't have Hicks. Rebounding was the biggest problem in the game. However, I think it is pretty clear UNC is better. I think that will bear out when we have everyone playing.
I'm pretty thrilled at the way Theo looked tbh.
