What pisses me off is that this team isn’t exactly devoid of talent. There’s enough of it to be an upper tier ACC team. And yet any time we go up against anyone remotely good we shit the bed.

Recruits watch this too. The more we flounder in mediocrity the less sheen that brand has for top kids.

5 years ago we were National Champions, and had been in back-to-back National Championship games.

Technically we are an upper tier ACC team. That tells you all you need to know about the ACC.

Moo played their role very well. It was exactly as it should be.

That was their best game all season and it was a joy to watch. It's so appropriate that the opposition was UNC's whipping boy.

nice. Looks just like the one on my desk.

So tell me, why can't that team who showed up today, play each game?

That was what I was hoping to see all year
Yeah this is why I was incorrectly so optimistic on this team before the season. I thought we’d see this type of game much more often.

Now I will be dumb enough to expect it just for us to get waxed next game.

Speaking of waxing; Kentucky is murdering Kansas, in Allen Field House, by 22 points, they were up by close to 30. It's tough enough to win in Lawrence, let alone beat the Jayhawks into the ground.

I think we all were. Blue kool-aid and all

I can barely understand anything being said over the PA System... but, Roy's grandchildren are awesome to watch! (Or great-grandchildren?, I dunno).

I dunno if it's a "competitor" link or not, so I'll just recommend it. If you have time, go to YouTube and watch the full interview (15 segments that average 5 minutes each) of Roy Williams by Graham Bensinger. It's really great and it offers some amazing insight on the man. I really feel honored to have had him as the coach of the team/school I love. He's just a good man. It made me miss Sutton's, too!

So, do we actually have a chance at winning an away game following a good performance? I seriously doubt we shoot just as good as we did and this team just doesn't seem to string together wins unless the competition is really bad.

Issunt the compuhtishun really bad in tonight's game?

Rollercoaster season, physically and emotionally.

Hopefully the same team that played moo shows up

….and unc is now playing for first place in the acc against dook. The “wtf” season rolls on
We would have to be one of the worst conference champions in ACC history if we actually won this year. Although, being the worst champion is better than being the best runner up.

This Garcia thing is interesting to me. I believe this family medical hardship thing is just sandbagging. There's no way a family would keep their kid out of school and away from a game/team they love because someone in the family is sick. Unless he's an only child and they have no other family around, something is amiss. Or, they're all sick, or there's some other MAJOR illness. It just doesn't add-up.

My folks would make sure that I was in school! If this is some kind of sandbagging, it's the worst kind ever. I wouldn't want someone playing for my team that would pull something like this to get out of or off of the team and land somewhere else.

The fact that he came to us through the transfer portal should give us all pause. I mean, not that there aren't legit reasons for transferring, but more often than not, a kid transfers because he's unhappy with whatever adversity has come his way. That's a weak approach and shows a lack of toughness. And if a kid has shown a lack of toughness once, it's likely it will happen again.

I hope the best for his family. But at this point, I'm not crazy about his return even if that is an option he and his family are considering.

If there is some unique situation where his presence back at home is absolutely mandatory, then I can understand... anyone would. But, I don't believe that's what happened. I think his family was pissed that he wasn't starting, and he was pissed he didn't start and play the major starter minutes. I think some folks in his family got Covid and they're using that as an excuse to bail on Davis and UNC.

The fact that they've won 4-in-a-row without him won't help his leverage. For all we know, he was the culprit for team chemistry issues. I don't know. I just know the team desperately needs dedicated players, and UNC has not been running on such a short bench in more years than I remember. So, for a player to be "unavailable" at this point, they'd better have a very good reason. I think the team may be better off without him.

I get your point here. It's a bit like the situation where someone initially meets their future spouse through an affair. There is always that element of doubt down the road when some troubles arise. But, it is all a matter of circumstances.

When you are trying to get a kid to transfer in, the staff has to fully probe the reasons for the transfer. There are some that are obvious. The fb team just got a grad transfer for the ol. That made sense for both sides. I'm not so sure about Garcia, but I wasn't on the phone or inside those rooms when the discussions took place.

Had Andrew not made it clear on premium that the family illness is legit, I'd have no hope at this point. So, I hope for the best for Dawson and his family and want it all to work out, but I am not at all optimistic that he ever sees the floor again in Chapel Hill unless it's on a visiting team's roster.

Love and Davis are struggling in this one, so far. That hurts more than Bacot's fouls.
