those posting inspirational messages are usually trying to gain inspiration and foundation from them themselves by doing so. But the best wisdom comes from within and needs no externalizing.
my biggest social media pet peeve is spouses who communicate via their timelines .... especially the sappy love messages. it's so pathetic.

what a prick to say that stuff right after that game, in front of your team and the surrounding Brotherhood. but honestly, it was a terrible idea to plan that event POST game. the morons got exactly what they deserved ... the most awkward, painful "celebration" ever.

I missed our game with them, but seeing them against dook I don't feel so bad about losing to them. They are a damn good team. Of course, you have to understand that dook was emotionally exhausted there toward the end of the game.

I'm with ya, and it's something that I'm sure has crossed the minds of many of us. But that would require uprooting his successor and that would expose him to even his most ardent fans to be the nasty rodent that he is. Might be worth seeing, actually.
Regarding his wife, did you notice her trying to give the traveling call, I think in the second half.? Her hands were pointing almost straight down as they went round and round, like she had alien hands. Human hands don't do that. It was bizarre and not just a little hideous, like her face.
I didn't have much of a problem with the broadcast at the time of the game, but after replaying it a number of times, I saw they spent way too much time featuring her, that Jeong moron, and Christian Laettner. Especially Laettner; it was like they had a camera dedicated just to his stupid face, and it was on a timer so that we had to endure it every 90 seconds separated by brief interludes of the game being played. WTH was the attraction, especially when you had more than ninety other former dook knuckledraggers to laugh at?
I'm not sure he would get the chance. I think he'll be one of those coaches who pass away soon after they retire. Some coaches just can't go on without the game.
I think there's something to both Dean and Bobby Knight developing dementia within 10 years of their retirement. Your mind is going a thousand miles an hour for 50 years then suddenly just drops to nothing.
When I would hear stories about Dean Smith remembering, not just all of these players, but their family members and "how are they doing?"... it's just amazing.
I knew that was Dean's downfall but I didn't know Bob Knight did as well. He seemed lucid enough at those Indiana reunions.

I completely agree. Joe Paterno and Bear Bryant come to mind. I dont think either made it 3 months after retiring. In no way am I hoping K dies but this is something that crossed my mind.

Yikes. Yeah, could be pre stage dementia or something of the sort.
To be fair, K has most likely taken better care of himself than Bryant, who smoked like a chimney and drank like a fish. Paterno was in his eighties already. But yeah, I could definitely see a scenario where he declines in some form or fashion like Dean or Knight.

Is Banchero even all THAT good??? I mean, I watched several dookie games, but, he didn't seem to be the same level of OAD showboat like Zion, or the usual suspects. I guess, to me, he didn't seem head-and-shoulders above the other 2 OADs.
