OOTB Carolina Basketball Discussion Thread

Agreed.
Officiating was terrible. Not saying for us or against us but they allowed too much.
Look, officiating is bad just about every game, it's the rule and not the exception. And I don't mean bad for UNC, I mean bad period. Why we even discuss it is a mystery to me. We should just expect general incompetence.
Sometimes watching the Heels, I feel like Roy holds our team back from a blowout. It's almost like he doesn't want to embarrass teams at times. there were times when I thought we could have blown it open and Roy then puts Seventh and Britt in the game. Berry looked plenty fresh.
And Isaiah only played 19 minutes, despite being our most efficient player. IMO, Nate and 7th both got too many minutes, Nate in particular.
Pinson is a game changer for us, period. His versatility is such a valuable weapon. He made several big plays but most importantly, when Joel is on the bench, he's clearly the best at pushing the ball up the floor. He literally does everything. I can't think of another Heels player as versatile in recent memory.
He's a poor man's Danny Green, without the scoring ability. And that's plenty good enough for this team.

We are going to have to shut this thread down. Since none of us have never been a coach or player at the college level we can't form an opinion on college basketball.
Can it, we're having a discussion here.

I don't like characterizing Pinson as a "poor man's Danny Green". I know what you meant, but in my opinion the only thing Danny did better than Pinson is shoot the ball. IMO, Pinson has him in just about every other area.

Interesting. My first reaction is that you are insane, but thinking about it, you may be right. Green passed the ball pretty well though.

To call Theo a poor man's Danny Green is a huge compliment. Many don't realize just how good Danny was. Danny was the only player in the history of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) with at least 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, 250 assists, 150 three-pointers, 150 blocks and 150 steals. That's versatility and those are incredible numbers.

It's my belief that had Pinson not experienced such injuries, by the time he graduates, he'd be the only guy to yada, yada, yada. It's a close call, and I loved and still love Danny. But Pinson is a better rebounder, a better ball handler, a better and more creative passer and an equal defender. Not close on the shooting obviously but Pinson still has one more offseason to work on that. I don't think he'll ever be the shooter Danny was but he can make up ground.

Where else? It was not my intent. I swear.

“I kind of like it that those plays don’t show up on the stat sheet,” Kenny Williams said. “That’s one of the beauties of those kinds of plays. Some guys do stuff that doesn’t show up on this sheet. That’s what makes a complete team. You have to have a couple guys who don’t know their numbers and will put their body on the line for the team at any time. That’s the beauty of it—they don’t show up. It has to come completely from inside of you. There’s no external motivation for it other than helping the team. You have to have so many different types of players to make a complete team. Everyone has to understand what they contribute to the team, and then they have to do it to the best of their ability every night.”

Is this where I say Kenny Williams is pretty articulate or nah?

Not UNC BB but I'm hoping for a massive brawl just before the cow molester vs douchebag game tonight. Will probably end up being a tickle fight though.

Lol I just looked up "ACC basketball schedule" to see what time that game is, and it brought up a list of tomorrow's games with no mention of state vs duke. Is that a subtle message from the good folks at Google?

Kenny talking about plays that don't show up on the stat sheet. Clearly referring to Blown Assists, right?
