It's a great day when dook loses. But make no mistake this is not an NIT caliber team either. K being out hurts them more than I thought it would and when he comes back he could easily turn it right back around.

If it's one I've learned over the years, it's to never assume anything with the dukies. And to never count them out. I hate em, but I'm not irrational about it.

I still think they will be a top 25 team with the right hire, but I think it's pretty clear at this point that Capel won't be next in line once K leaves.

I always pull for Duke over State. But like you said, I'm taking solace in the fact that it probably saved Gott's job.

I've been on this train for a couple seasons as you know, and I maintain my position that they will fall off the map when K goes. The best part is, they have such a small alumni base that the media will quickly move on and not care. It won't be tantamount to Texas or Ohio State sucking in football. The media would run "what's happened to Texas / Ohio State??" pieces all the time, and eventually those schools would do what it takes to get back on top.

With Duke, I just don't see it. They're a hyper-elite academic institution, but one with a small alumni base (relatively) that doesn't care a ton about sports (relatively). I definitely think Duke Basketball becomes a fringe Top 50 program after K.

That's gotta be it, I guess. Odd, since he was a paying member - I wonder how that works, if he gets refunded or if he forfeits his premium access (or if he retains the access to articles and premium boards until his subscription is up, but can't poast anymore)

Pretty sure he was a dOOk poser, I called it a week or so back in fact. I believe GSD or 71-00 said he wasn't . . he surfaced last summer and was a troll from day 1 in a fairly discreet manner. Come in through the Premi door and later venture into Radar, he was pretty obvious if you read all the boards.
